Put a captcha(eg recaptcha) field for every rating along with the IP based technology.

In my opinion second options is the best, but I think that average rating should also be based on several factors like:
a)average result from outside voters
b)average result from gsmarena staff
- also including some kind of ponder which would take standard deviation of results in final rating as well (in that case larger dispersion of results would also correct final rating)

I believe the second method is the best. If registered users are forced (gently, or encouraged) to rate the less popular phones, balance should be restored.

i remember that samsung wave was 3rd of the list because of voting. (by the way i am an owner of wave2 :) and it shouldn t be seen on the list).always there will be fanboys and because of this there will be no solutions but the worst one of these choices is to login facebook for voting. it will just limit the voting system and fanboys are also have facebook accounts

I think gsmarena should use ip adress tech. to prevent the problem of voting but on the other side you cant just clear all the votes its not fair so start using this tecnology but dont reset the vote system .
and thanks gsmarena , great site with great info >

i think the 2nd option is cool... every 4th person has a fb account, and u gotta sacrifice something to achieve something.. or they use twitter or others..

Third option sounds best, although it would be a shame to lose all past votes.

Log in with Facebook. I am an occasional user of the site and the polls are currently useless. However by logging in with Facebook people should be less likely to lie... Well at least you'd hope so!
Also you should be able to get more detailed feedback than a simple like button.
Oh and if you decide to do the top option you could just remove the top/bottom 5% or 10% of votes. That should sort it out, but like you say probably only in the short term.

Combine 1 + 2 + 3 in this way:
Allow only for positive feedback (3), for the people that are not logged in and in extreme cases perform smart filetring (1). Negative votes alloved only for logged in useres (2) to see if there is a person that constatly "does something unethical".
This should be rather easy to implement. ;)

Sir,
use your own system for user accounts which could be linked to google/facebook/twitter etc.
user must be logged in to vote, and BTW there is very low probability of user visiting GSMArena, not having google/facebook/twitter a/c
suspend inactive account after 2-3 months
in this way, even if you are attracting less voters, accuracy of the voting will be high
and fanboys would not like the gimmick of switching accounts again and again to vote repeatedly
you know what VOTES in Elections in India are also forged inspite of tough security majors
so, you know some leakage is considerable

My vote would go for the third one, but you should carry forward old votes removing 10s and 1s votes from it.

The third option is the best.
