In addition to what exists already, there shud be some kind of verification system in place, a captcha code for instance is a good start.

the third option wud b effectiv. But it seems jst voting based on consumers 1 click voting is nt enuf. To have correct votes, the voting shud depend on d pros n cons given by d consumer in way of comment or somthing literal n dan analysing doz comment by your proffesionals. Dis way ur site may get the comments too n voting wil b left wid profesionals of your site.

How about employing a captcha type system? Along with that you could ask the voter to produce an email address for voting verification, they would have to confirm the vote via a link sent to their inbox. That would in my opinion really slow them down.

wipe the existing data, it's probably half fake anyway.
use the same voting system to make it easier and introduce smart filtering to prevent fakes even from proxies.
using something like facebook as you quite rightly pointed out means the unpopular phones or people who don't like facebook, the results will become quickly biased.
goes away to have a think.

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2012You should begin accepting votes based on IP, that way, som... moreno, because with a 1000 proxies, that's a 1000 different IP's.
I could think of a way around this but it would take up maybe (depends...) a little too much cpu time causing a bit of latency.
but i'm a programmer, i love a good challenge, but, listen if i think of a plausible way which works, I want you guys to go a little more in depth and compare GPS ability, eg, my I9000 gps is far superior than the I9100 (my wife's) SG1 vs SG2, well i refuse to upgrade until i know that the GPS signal is strong....

Option 2 - one vote per person, even if it is negative, afterall, people are as unhappy with their phones as others are happy

Rating should be an average of or based on following 3 parts:
A) Techinical formulae: Increase parameters and make a formula for them e.g. Camera quality, Screen quality, Connectivity, signal reception, UI, Human language support, etc. Camera may have some fixed rating points for autofocus, EDoF, Megapixels, Colours, customisation, hardware button, low light image quality, etc.
B) Expert Rating: Rating for each parameter above
C) User Rating: To be done by ansering questions for above parameters rather than selecting numbers. IP check and blocking for certain time for heavy traffic. Blocking users rating highest or lowest repeatedly and selectively.
Display all A, B, C above and the final average so that people will come to know who is doing what.

Its simple as you like
For comments And voting Login should be required and a person cannot vote more than once for the phone. It will not only reduce the number of votes but will also make the process easier.

Block the voting poll if the phone is not released yet. Make it available after a week when its released to also help filter those random/fanboy voters. Performance cant really be measured if the phone is not yet release so making the poll available when the phone was just announced makes the whole poll invalid from the start.
