Or else there is another method u can keep two bars juz like urself give some hands on rating to the product and in another one instead of public interest column leave people to vote their product by wich people can compare rating of yours and votes by the them....and understand...
    Hope this works too...

Did you think about using recaptcha after the "VOTE" button is pressed. The idea is the following:
      - A user puts in his /her numbers for a phone.
      - The user click vote
      - The server generates a dynamically generated page that contains recaptcha.
      - The user enters the recaptcha to validate non robotic behavior.
The Cons of this approach is the hassle for the user. But since many users are used to recaptcha these days, it would make it less intimidating.

3rd option seems to be the best one, hopefully it will work for the best.

3rd option is best. Register the user, Validate through email/mobile num and limit the vote for 4 to 5 mobiles for a week or month or until new release, as the user is not going to buy all the mobiles they see.

          Thanks

Please manage 2 different voting systems. According to me, that will be a good and prolonged system :
The 1st voting, which is not open to public, but only the admins rate the phones, which will be free of any manipulation.
The 2nd one, which can be open to all public, like the current one, where fanboys can do what they want. But limit the number of votes from each IP on each phone to only 1, so that it may be a little resistive towards crazy fanboys.

It has to be option #3.

the concept of negative voting was always flawed. Again if people don't like a phone , they won't vote for it.

The catch will be to develop a system where the ratings also take into consideration the number of votes.

Introduce more login methods like Google, OpenID and GSMArena account. Then make voting one per account and 1 login per IP.

I feel that the BEST way out would be to --
                    1) the GSM arena site should be without any log-in and free to use and see and read
                    2) the voting section should be made Log-In i.e. if a user wants to vote, then he/she can log-in, get a username and ID and then vote for his/her phone of choice.
                    3) over time, a person's choice can vary, as he/she uses other phones. So, a person can be allowed to vote again after a fixed time period, say , 2 weeks or 1 month or 3 months.
                    4) To curb fake-IDs, the login ID can be linked to either the user's email account or facebook profile or simply to their Mobile numbers.
I hope this or some other solutions works soon.
                    regards
                    Rohit

I feel you should enforce sign-up that does not necessitate one having a facebook account.Give each registered member a unique identification. Then from there track their voting trend and statistics. If any anomalies in voting like the ones you have mentioned above are recognized, notify them and if it does not stop, suspend their accounts.Desperate situations call for desperate measures. The only cons I see are:People hesitating to sign-up(who likes it anyway?) and fanboys having multiple accounts.

How about setting the votes to only once per phone per account? That looks like the only viable option.

Also, how about disabling votes on devices that are not yet released?

Another would be to actually give the voting system and opinions corner an overhaul, much like Cnet where you have to submit an actual review of the devices together with the vote ratings and allow other users to comment/rate/report on those reviews? That is an easier way to sort out the fake reviews and will allow the legitimate ones to be counted.

In my opinion the second variant would be a good choice because even if you sacrifice a lot of votes, you may stay whith a few accurate ones. You must make some compromise if you want to post votes which reflects the reality.

I think GSMArena should introduce Voting system based upon email. Voting should be done through legitimate Email address in an interactive email. In this way, only valid users can Vote and once in specified time. Email address should be entitled to Vote once in a specified time.

You should make one little box with five or ten stars and let us interact on it to vote for design, features, value for money.

Not that options my advice is to see people who signup with gsmarena account can only comment and vote..
By this one with one account voted for specified phone cannot vote again for that phone by this they cannot create accounts intentionally multiple accounts to vote.....
Change voting system by gsmarena login or signup and not by facebook
                                        hope its usefull for u
