Scrap all three systems.
What is Best is personal.
The best voting system is already there, in the phone finder. One can have results better matching his tastes. The searches can give the weight of every aspect in our views. The parameters matched multiplied by weight and the whole divided by price is the rating of each for the mean consumer.

how about only allowing people to vote once per phone and making them log in and vote only if they write a review on the phone itself. make a list of what kind of things they can vote for on the phone then tally the results and add them up and take the average of the sum. This is how it is done on other sites like bestbuy and futureshop etc.

Think you should go with the 2 option. And add editor rating. That will be a nice solution. Most people who read tec reviews have facebook, twitter or google+

3)... moreI agree with you. Also I don't think it should be an open poll.. only Editor's and members' ratings.
And reset everything... every phone now has around 8.5 and it's totally useless.
So I'd go with option 3, with the addition of Editor's rating.

ya, make it so only registered users can vote, and also add a editorial voting (GSMarena's vote) next to it.
Take a look at www.phonedog.com , their system seems to be working.

step 2, but its easy to have multiple facebook accounts and still upvote/downvote, rather, have gsmarena's own account, And abusive voter ids/ips, will be banned from voting again. I guess it should be easier to filter out, especially those down voters.
Tbh, I have stopped looking at the top phone votes, it has been always been manipulate(i have been following gsm arena from about 10 years.)

This is my one second thought-come-up. Phones that are receiving more votes, less votes should count. I.e. let's say only every fifth or seventh or tenth vote should be recorded. If phone is not popular and it is getting very few votes, every vote should be recorded. And it should be retrospective. If phone receives over 1000 votes for example 500 votes should be deleted if you say that above 1000 votes only the fifth vote count. You don't delete 800 because you don't want to go under every fourth to count. Therefore votes would be constantly deleted to some point. When the limit that only the tenth vote count and the appropriate number of votes are deleted the deleting would stop. I hope I was clear enough :)

Alternatively you could just scrap all apple products since before iFans there were no flame wars or voting issues so it's safe to assume everything bad happening now is just the consequence of their presence.
