2nd Options looks most Accurate & Practical. 'Login 2 Vote' Should be there in any Case.
Almost 99% people who use internet have a FB Account.
Also Voting should take yearly route. After completion of a year, Just archive d results for that year.

yeah, go with only positive values. its just ridiculous fanboys give great phones 1 point just to decrease its rating...

              2. Starting over is too much work. Facebook log-in helped the comments stay within the guidelines.

First, filter the extreme votes which are found doubtful.
It will help removing negative voting..
Than introduce login based voting system. Allow people to create account on this site and also allow facebook account login.
And if possible, start blocking the IPs which are frequently giving negative votings (if possible).
Best is to combine your given options in an effective way.

you don't even need to reset the votes, coz i think you can easily separate the fb users from non-fb users on your data base.

I agree with option number 3 and I want to make the voting system divided into two parts, "Good" & "Bad",
when some one says it's good he has the option to say good about what, and if he says it is "Bad" he mention bad in what.
                          problem solved

The best option is number 2. Allows you to monitor funboys, and ensures that the general public sees actual reader/phone owner results. Not just by people (non funboys even) who might wonder into the site and press a button.

You do need to lose facebook exclusivity. What about a Chinise who uses Weibo? Or a Russian with an Odnoklassniki account?

X, 19 Apr 2012Hi, Sorry to say it but, I've never really found that rati... morePopularity, dialy interest is also fake as people keep using multiple IPs, proxies etc giving hundreds of hits per phone per day from just one user.

I say #2, and let's just hope fake facebook accounts don't florish in south korea in the near future.

Just make a separate result for fb users and non-fb users. Then make more emphasis on the fb users vote, like based the ratings on fb users and almost negligible small graph for non-fb users or put a down arrow key to show the voting result of non-fb users while hiding it most of the time.

Second option minus facebook! Many people don't want to open a facebook account for various reasons. many have disabled their accounts etc. So please create your own athentication system and make the sign up process hard enough to stop spammers from opening multiple accounts (CAPTCHA + Email confirmation etc.) and easy enough to not scare away potential honest voters. (like Sign up within a single fancybox)
                                      P.S
creating your own authentication system is a must do! but using a lot of other OpenID providers besides facebook like Yahoo, Google, Live/Hotmail, Twitter etc. also helps a lot . . .
