Can you please, please please *please* explain to me how a phone with a CLASS-LEADING Chipset is an 'entry level' phone?

Yes simple. A13 is firmly behind the 865.

A reference device if you speak to Qualcomm nicely. Or other manufacters references demonstration devices given usually to journalists before official launches. But don't worry. In a few days you will be able to either pre order or buy direct from China.

So.. iPhone 11 is an 'entry-level' device because some coming out soon-ish phones might be faster?

They like it my a**. They buy didnt mean they like it. They buy because they forced to and they dont have options because it is the only way to hear to their phone without loudspeaker. But well, that Apple's marketing strategy on purpose and it succeed right?

"Wireless these day sounds very good, i was actually surprised how good the sound is when i tried Sony wireless headphones. I still don't own wireless earphones or headphones, but i could easily buy them these days."

Why just 'sound very good' but not sound the best? Because you dont want admit that wired headphones still the best sound i and the quality still better than wireless i guess? I want bringing up about the latency that all headphones wireless have but that will be too much for you. And btw, not all people is rich as you to buy new headphones that 'sound very good' which obviously has 'very good price'. They have wired headphones or earphones that still can be used for a long period and they want that option. So overally wired still wins hands down

100% agree, that's why companies had to remove jack so people start to experiencing new options, and oh boy do they like it! just look AirPod sales. Without removing 3.5mm people wouldn't have understood how easy and effortless and joyful it is to use wireless earphones.

"Wire wins over wireless every time in terms of quality. At least for now."

Most people would not have bothered with wireless earphones in the first place, if the companies still provided 3.5 mm jacks. It's not the other way around, like the companies would like you to believe.

Wire wins over wireless every time in terms of quality. At least for now.

And that adapter thing is pure BS. Why 'should' we need an extra accessory just because I wanted to listen a song? What about the moment when you need to charge + listen to a song at the same time?

Phones' size keep getting larger and people in company PR telling us there's no space inside? That too, when LG is still making top notch audiophile phones *while* retaining 3.5 mm jacks? If LG can do it, so can the so called 'market leaders'. But they won't. Because they want more of your money. Because that's how capitalism works.

Seems Apple's strategy to sell budget-friendly iPhones has paid off well. I'm an iPhone XR user and I'm happy that I bought iPhone XR.

Sponge, 30 Jan 2020This is technologically correct but factually wrong. App... moreThey use virtual machine page file sourcing... You can do the same with a custom rom for android. Basically use the ROM as RAM. Semi-Partitioned or allocated. And compression.

iOS is not exactly optimised either. It simply uses a different principle.

However. Once side by side with something with 12GB of ram and a few games running...

I have personally seen iOS with limits with its ram performance. You can see it on YouTube.

iOS cannot compete against an android with true 12GB Ram.

Its not as optimized as people say.

There is an Asus rog phone 2 with 12GB ram. And an iPhone 11. It is crystal clear that the iPhone multiple times has to recache and uncompress its virtual ram.

Where as the Asus rog phone 2 with 12gb of ram. Not once needed to reload even a single time.

iOS is not quite as optimized especially concerning ram compared to android. And for that reason. Apple are already considering to implement 6GB for possible iPhone 12 models or model.

Apple generally get away with lower CPU clock speeds and ram size etc because there iOS software is highly optimised for use with there own chipset.

The headphone jacks are being made redundant as more than ever is the wireless headphone becoming more popular and if smart phone makers feel that extra space is needed inside a handset, even if only for an extra 100mah of battery, battery is generally a more sought after thing by a higher percentage of consumers.

The headphone socket argument is null & void as most brands place an adaptor inside the box anyways for those without wireless headphones.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 20201. iPhone 11 series is durable. 2. iPhone 11 is the cheape... moreApples brand image has lots to do with there success! This is very likely the reason behind Samsungs rumoured removal of the "e" from its S-Series line up for 2020, When a mobile phone company is selling a handset to an everyday consumer most of them consider the image that the product displays to on lookers, and how it also makes them feel when you buy into a brand like Apple, which is generally seen by most who aren't Android users(I'm in the Huawei group of course), it's not always about the Apple echo-system either as lots of people do not have other Apple products anyways.

Its the same for the likes of German car company's, some of the best sold German cars are actually the smallest models because its the cheapest way in that Brand etc..

                                        Many reasons.

                                        But technology is improving rapidly.

Unless your an elderly person. Then that's understandable. Or an iPhone users who seeks more the apple eco system than the more open alternatives. And simply does not care about the handset that have.

However for those that like progressive technology and can see just how rapid the technology is changing. Some people. Not everyone. Can see it perfectly reasonable to have an improved handset at least either every year. Or maximum. Every two years. And no more than three years. Although there are exceptions.

But principally people should ideally seek improvements every one to two years. And no more than three years. Which in the android world is pretty prehistoric by some standards. However that is not to say that a three year old device is not good. As it has served its owner well possibly for the duration of time reasonably required.

If I was an iPhone owner I would personally change every year these days as after a few months. The handsets are perceptively looking increasing out of date. Especially with the overwhelming improvements by rival Android handsets.

The iPhone 12 series will finally have a few android specs and components. As time continues. IPhones tend to incorporate more and more android components. From screens to 5G modems courtesy of Qualcomm. Even maybe USB C at this rate. And obviously the cameras are also made by a famous android manufacturer.

So it kind of simply makes sense for most people to just upgrade to an android handset.
