They should have just unlocked the 120hz mode on their previous mobile displays. The software implemented 90hz is a gimmick at best.

Xperia 1 ll, Really?
Just call it the Xperia 2 or like Samsung has galaxy S20, Sony can call this Xperia 20.

finally, the headphone jack is back.... I am going to have two choices now, LG and Sony....

The phone just looks so eye pleasing and gorgeous .. I just cant put my finger on what it is.. In ways it looks just like a regular phone but it still catching my eyes again and again.. What trickery is this

Just dont fit my skinny jeans and shallow jogger pockets but no problems with anything else .. Chinos, Pants, regular jeans handle it perfectly .. Mate 20x is also pretty heavy with 5000mAh battery and i just dont feel any of it after using it for almost a year now .. Give Sony phone a try if you like it

Difference between Pro and 1 II are:
Storage size
Body
HDMI/5G
Cams are the same. It is more to be monitor and router than actually a phone.

What are you talking about Sony? The Xperia Pro is supposed to have a slide-out hardware keyboard!
PS: congrats on returning the 3.5 mm jack - this should be the headline.

I'm seeing a lot of hate for this phone, but honestly, I think it's perfect. It's as close to perfect as you can get right now. Front firing speakers, 3 cameras, 4000 mAh battery with wireless charging, water resistant body, a headphone jack, fluid and fast near stock software, and a beautiful display. Really, the only thing I can the only con against it would be price considering Sony's history, but considering how you can justify the price of an S20 Ultra, you could deeefinitely justify the price for the Xperia. Well done Sony.

I assume the "very big' 1/1.7'' Exmor sensor" is "bigger 1/1.7 Exmore..." as in app 50% larger than in the previous model, and larger pixels.
otherwise I wait for the cameras tests. and for the 5 mark 2.... :)

Funny how they mention their main camera to have 'very big' 1/1.7'' Exmor sensor.
But Huawei and Samsung both have 28% larger (1/1.33'') main sensors on their flagships.

Much sadness that the leaks were wrong about the periscope camera. I hope they mean it when they say they're bringing the audio prowess of their music + motion picture divisions - at this point the only people wanting to buy a flagship for its 3.5mm jack want HIGH quality, a-la LG V-Series.
Still, I wouldn't mind it if they bundled their high-end wireless headphones again.... But I feel like it'll be worth waiting to see what an Expedia 5 mrk. II would offer.

As the Pro will not be available in Europe I'm not interested. The cameras of the non Pro aren't enough for its price. I also don't like the TV remote control format and the side fingerprint sensor when you put a case to protect ir. Hopes for upcoming alternatives with jack or two ports, and better optical zoom.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2020I checked S20U photo quality by myself hands on and quality... moreI am saying this not as a SONY fan boy but based on how it has been for past 4-5 generations. Majority of time(80-90%) SAMSUNG releases a phone with more RAM faster Storage and even faster chip-set(few times). In all cases with all that additional specs it was hardly able to keep-up with SONY or even fail to keep-up in some cases. This is the result of SONY UI being superiorly optimized in comparison to SAMSUNG UI. Specially S series devices no matter how high of a model you choose fail. Note series is true competitor as by the time it gets launched the UI is better optimized than what it is done for S series models. Having more memory and faster storage is of no use if it is not well optimized at which SAMSUNG fails badly specially for S series.
