Not at all surprising to me. Was expecting it for long. and yeh I do belive that Moto is way too stubborn in accepting changes.

The problem lies with their multi-tier hierarchy management which always take an eternity to make decisions and often being somewhat too stubborn in accepting change. The whole work flow system is a mess, even with their six-sigma implementation. Today's game is all about evolving and not about praying that RAZR will rule the world for a century.
Anyway, No Love Lost...Bye Moto!

IMO Moto deserved this. Over the years they had only been focusing on design rather and perfomance. Take V3 for example, it's slim so its design deserved to win all other cells out there(Just during its glory days). But the perfomance? unresponsive system, dull UI etc. I think Moto should follow the approach of Nokia & SE. Nokia had their S40 & Symbian, SE had their A100 UI which had won the hearts of many users and not the mention their design was also decent

bad news.
i used to have some old Motorola phones, and it's sad to hear there will be no longer Motorola phone in the future.
IINM, motorola is the inventor of today's commercial mobile phone (remember Motorola DynaTac?) and, together with Siemens, they are well-known for their innovative designs.
Siemens mobile phones already gone for good, and now Motorola's going to quit the phone market...
omg, what will be happened to the future of mobile phone design then?
as far as i concern, they really need to fix the interface of their mobile phone to attract new customers.
the interface is not attractive and easy-to-use.
IMO, they should learn how to make an ergonomic interface from Nokia and SE, really...

Well. I expected it to happen long ago, moto obviously dun have technology to compete. If u notice, even the use-to-be giant ericsson have to merge with sony for 'technology'. So, bye bye moto.

This is just tragic. Motorola has made both icons and historical pieces of gadgets! Let us hope that they can stand up...

Motorola is a very weak company, seeing how they would just lose against the competition between the mobile giants.
Just look at Nokia. It had its downsides and bad times, but it rose to prominence and is now one of the most potential global leader in technology.
Motorola should learn from Nokia to never back down without a fight.

Ok so I sell cellular phones and the things that bug me most about Motorola cell phones is their OS especially the V3. I mean for a $400 phone, even today in some areas, the menu is so slow. When you are in a hurry, flip open the thing, quickly go through the option you need, and close it and you can still hear it beeps inside trying to catch up! For a $400 phone! The other stuff that really bug me are the incredible number of problems and return rate. Battery not charging, battery not holding charge, LCD screen go blank, etc. and my personal favorite is the annoying Motorola beep and the battery is low. Who else find that sound annoying?! Not sure how and why but Nokia's beep when battery is low is very discreet and easy on the ear.
Finally, the presentation of Motorola phone and its contents in the box is laughable. For a $500 V8/V9, it's just the mold holding the phone on top, every other piece of accessory is thrown together into a mess below! For comparison's sake, SE's Z310, a $100 phone, has individual paper boxes for the charger and the earpiece in its box.
I just hope that whoever takes over will do a complete overhaul of their phones' UI, OS, fit & finish, and packaging.
