Basically every consumer electronics product except for the PlayStation will be under the new Sony Electronics Corporation effective April 1.

IMO, I love the Sony front stereo speakers and this Xperia 1 ii is great because it ultra wide design must have very impressive stereo audio quality, I already ditch LG and HTC, the Samsung IPhone are not even close, so don't take them to compare.
    The latest smartphone from the competitors doesn't bring back the 3.5mm, they don't know comsumer demands!

          I said they should price their phones competitively. Samsung is losing market shares, and they aren't losing it to themselves. It's the likes of 1+ that are picking those sells, but it could very easily be Sony. They have the name and international recognition probably more than all those brands combined, but they aren't selling.

          They should loosen their pride and save themselves.

                    Sony did not make or invest enough in the OLED panel making.
                    and it did not make or invest enough in the Chip making.

                    I thought these are the 2 key reasons, that sony had lost its original position to the Samsung. comparing a samsung top phone and a sony top phone currently, it is obvious which one is more advanced.

                    I thought it is the problem of limited new workforce in the Japan, and Japan had chosen to focus its effort in the car making industry. The Japan is still making much better cars than the S Korea.

Because they have the follower-ship and they they can get away with it.

I was an HTC enthusiast when smartphones first hit the market and gradually got hooked into LG. I am an audiophile, not to be confused with pedofile, ahem; so the headphone jack and high fidelity sounds they produce determine what kind of phone I'll get. I have a Samsung Note 8.the writing features are cool, and the camera is pretty decent, but I've been disappointed with since phone since getting it two years ago. I frankly trust Sony more than Samsung to produce High Quality products that reinforce their reputation as a leading, innovative industry. Samsung makes some pretty neat tech, and it's first in world smartphone sales; but the bottom line for innovation this year round is a gimmicky like a 108 megapixel shooter. Yes, it takes pretty good photos that are certainly large in size but their color accuracy lacks the refinement of even an iPhone camera.

                        One of the O.G. Coolest components of androids was their capacity to interchange batteries and insert expandable memory-- both of which have become more and more scarce as Android companies attempt to recreate Apple's success. That's unfortunate to say the least, if none else than for me.

                        I'm getting that xperia 1 ii right when it hits shelves. Assuming the covid-19 lockdown doesn't hinder my plans.

                          A sells 100 mi units per year. B sells 10 mi.

                          So according to you, A can charge $1500, but you want B to sell for $800.

                          Sony has to buy almost all pieces of the device. People in Japan have higher wage compared to americans and koreans.
                          All software from Alpha, Walman and Bravia cant just be insert. They create a mobile version from Zero because are different products. That demands money.

                            I wish I could pay just $1000 for flagship.

                              This means we can get the same company who is developing Sony's awesome professional dedicated cameras to work on the cameras of Sony's phones, right? I can't wait to see their next camera phone

                                Well.. all top brands also focus more on r&d.
                                The difference is.. all of those sony competitors have much more r&d budget, that's why they can always deliver better products with more features.
                                Sony has less r&d budget because most people in the world dont buy xperia.

Last time I owned a Samsung phone was in 2016. That I don't use their phones doesn't make me myopic and ignorant about how business works.

                                  Leader in entertainment smartphone? Which smartphone isn't for entertainment? They all are, for the most part. Didn't know that there's a smartphone segment called "entertainment" lol.

                                  Talk all you want, if Sony smartphone offerings don't start competing in the industry, they'd suffer in that regard… oh… wait! Their smartphone business has actually been suffering for years because of that.

                                  LG recorded a lot of firsts in the smartphone industry. They, alongside HTC offered good audio quality. How are they faring, profit-wise?

                                  Consumer psychology: know what buyers… the majority of them want and give it to them.

                                      From Apple to Samsung then China phone, all of them just the (smartphone) marketing leader which branding cheaper and even cheaper, also some of them with shady marketing business, you found their negative comments flooding every Sony thread even they have no interest on their products.
                                      When it come to entertainment leader (smartphone) it definitely the Sony, they have branding, yes, but not like other competitors flooding all of the media repetitive. IMO Sony tend to focus more on R&D and introduce new technology including audio imaging and many other. They don't playing shady marketing like no other.
