I am a bit confused here

how can a company hold a patent for something that existed long before the phone did, e.g the original smart phone blackberry.
I am sure they were doing this a long time before there was even an iphone.
Then bring along nokia as well
It only seems they have a patent in USA cause the usa system is corrupt

Sandman, 16 May 2012Den i can tell that you like your iphones but your example ... moreIn fact I do not have iPhone and never had an Apple product.
What is the name of this application?
If such a system that worked properly was already exist so why Samsung decided to incorporate such a system only after Apple did it?
If Apple was not introducing "siri" Do you think that Samsung would show the "S-Voice" ?
If you are honest with yourself then the answer is pretty clear.

This agressive business practices do piss me off. I don't care if it's Apple who delays HTC or viceversa, delaying a product entrance date, in such a product aging sensible market is no fun for the OEMs, but even more important it's no fun for customers. So, for all those who were expecting such an anticipated product like the US HOX, would you even think about buying a 4S now? Bad PR management here.

I have no problem taking an idea and drive it a few steps forward but to do the same thing it's just an imitation (siri ----> S-Voice)

den, 16 May 2012It does not matter who manufactures, the question of who th... moreNice try, but your argument is rendered rather hollow by your use of the phrase 'tired of cheap Korean imitations (s3, one x ...)' and the implication that Apple was somehow the progenitor of all things mobile and that any other mobile phone with a similar shape and an independent operating system is somehow a cheap copy.

Remember the Palm Treo range? Vaguely rectangular? Touch Screen? Standalone operating system? 3rd party apps?

Sound familiar? All are features which Apple users would have you believe did not exist before 2007. So to use your own insightful reasoning, the iphone range is just an 'expensive American imitation'.

Yes it's boring and pedantic, but not as futile as the 'your phone seems to be good so I will take legal action to try and stop you selling it on the basis of various unspecified, irrelevant and invisible patent claims and spurious moral superiority' attitude that Apple takes to everything.

Someone should patent a phone with quad core or more. It's considered a selling point so let's just patent something ridiculous and once granted, we can start the sueing.

The patenting of a software process which involves transforming numbers into open links goes against the spirit of the web which is to inter link data. Apple's desire to control this through patenting is shocking.
