Samsung Galaxy Note20 to pack a 4,000 mAh battery

18 April 2020
It's said to be unveiled in August.

Will never buy an overpriced Samsung phone with the Exynos rubbish it gives us in Europe. 4000mAh is also nothing to write home about in 2020.

Yet Google sticks the smallest possible batteries I'm its phones year after year

        they will never learn,will they???"

Google only learns through the knowledge acquired by data-siphoning from users' usage of Chrome and Android phones. The petabytes of data amassed thus far by Google is evidently not in support of higher capacity batteries in their Pixel range phones.

Until someone craftly creates a document/presentation on their Android, which gives the virtures of having a larger battery in Pixels solely for the intention of Google to pick up on this point, Google shall continue to be none the wiser, with a continuation of the status quo.

Google is only as intelligent as the data it harvests.

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2020What you people fail to realise is that optimization doesn'... moreAll of that is true, until you realize that the Xperia 5, an Android phone, with even smaller battery than the Galaxy S10e, actually has far superior battery life, by far.
In fact, the Galaxy S20 Ultra with 5000mAh can't even get past the 100h mark, which is the bare minimum (and possibly the worst case scenario) for such given capacity.

Software optimization will ALWAYS play a big role to the longevity of the phone.
It's just like using a 900kV machine to electricute a cockroach. You're literally wasting a lot of power with poor software optimization.
And Apple could put totally as small batteries as 1800mAh because of the given form factor, as well as just how well its OS is designed to get such battery capacity to last.

This has been proven so many times already, and the mere fact that you're still in denial about it only makes you look stu*id in those words. Can't deny actual facts backed up by proper evidences, sorry.

Hopefully it won't suck as hard as the Note10. They need to bring back the SD slot & a 1440p screen. The Note series was always about having no compromises. That mustn't change now.

I'm sure the price will be well above $1000. Therefore, this phone is Dead On Arrival.

Shanti Dope, 18 Apr 2020Well then it needs to be as well-optimized as an iPhone ... moreWhat you people fail to realise is that optimization doesn't play a large role with batteries. You can only ""optimize"" it so far. Batteries are NOT SOFTWARE, they are CHEMICALS. You can't seriously think that a 1800mAh battery is better than 3000 or 4000mAh because of "optimization". You act like the chemical composite of iPhone batteries is "optimized" or something. They come from the same factories, sorry to break your illusion.

it should be about 1800mah like the new iphone...

of course that is a joke...

This is disappointing, because the flagship mobile is so low battery, it eliminates Exynos the charge of the processor battery quickly.

Fearghast, 18 Apr 2020Aaaand Europe gets the new refresh of Exynos.... Yayyyyy! /sWe also get the Exynos garbage here in Asia. I dont ever wanna buy anything from Oppo and vivo too. I'm so out of options here. Huawei doesn't have Google services anymore which is essential for me. OnePlus isn't available here. Sony is not available and so is LG and HTC. Xiaomi is here but they're selling the budget ones. Iphones are a big no-no. Samsung is my only option but having to pay for a underwhelming and inferior chipset isnt gonna happen.

Will drain very quickly with 120Hz display (which can be switched to 60Hz of course) and weak and power-consumptive Exynos chipset.

if its going to have the useless "120hz" display, it would need a bigger battery than last year's lineup.
yes, its useless to 90% of the people buy phones once every few years, i'm not talking about the ones that have more money than god to throw away each time they seem to be interested in another phone despite having 2 month old flagship.
