I bought SII in chennai yesterday ICS4 upadated default by samsung everything working fine pariculary face unlock do not update your SII by manually better exchange your old SII buy updated one by samsung other wise its not working properly

Hi All,
Upgraded my S2 with ICS(India).So thought of sharing the experience.
1.New UI for many apps like call logs,setting etc...Looks Good.
2.UI is overall smooth...
3.Gmail,Video Player,Signal Strength and few minor updates are good.
4.RAM is still 831...but the usage has increased...now it does not go below 450(approx)...
5.Face Unlock...not 100% working...but still not bad...
6.Gtalk with video chat...finally its here...
7.The Biggest drawback is that some high graphics game have gone slow(eg:RF 2012 HD)...although Asphalt 6 was smooth...(the reason may be ICS using more RAM)
Overall I would recommend the update BUT if u play a lot of games(like me)...be ready for a little frustration in some games :(
But if u dont want to play REAL games on ur phone...ICS is really good

it is real update for sgs i9100g ICS 4.0.3
Please contact samsung service center or install latest kies from samsung site then connect your cell to pc. then you notified with new update.

Hi,
I am unable to update my S2 to ICS using KIES. It keeps on saying preparing firmware upgrade components and stays there forever.

YES..ICS update is finally available..howevr..I could not upgrade to it as the upgrade is getting stuck at preparing firmaware upgrade screen. Called up Samsung service centre and they have asked to get it done from a registered service centre...

At last ICS has finally arrived in Malaysia..erm but guys, can u tell me the proper steps to update my s2 through KIES? I mean, after i do my backups, whats the next step that should i do? I never update my android or root my s2 before..So can anyone share with me? *wink2* ^.^

Mr Rajesh please install Samsung kies software on your PC and connect your phone with it, it will pop up a message for firmware update and will take about an hour depending your internet speed!
