Just because you don't need certain features doesn't mean it's inferiror in every way. Asus and Sharp can't come close to Bravia Z or A series.

Fearghast, 26 May 20204K is useless on a phone anyway. Useless battery hog.Not on pentile OLED it isn't. OLED has less subpixels compared to LCD so FHD resolution on OLED is really not detailed FHD it's less. Xperia 4K has over 1.5 million pixels more compared WQHD on Samsung S20+ which is pretty visible by the naked eye. Difference is obvious.

No 5G support, according to the article. Design is also pretty lame. I was hoping Sony would make a comeback after the dissapointing first Xperia 1 with weak cameras.
Sony should just make sure that its PS5 sells well later on. Their Bravia TVs are great, but extremely overpriced (especially their QLED TVs which costs above $10000) which can get you a gaming TV from Asus or Sharp for roughly the same price or less. Not sure about their DSLR camera lineup though, but Nikon and Canon are still more popular.
Their smartphone lineup is just a let-down these days. A Samsung flagship is still more relevant, but better yet a OnePlus.

D.O.A - dead on arrival for those who don't know.
Better stick to their playstation and tv business.
If people are still buying their overpriced tv's they think that will also buy an overprice phone. And that just for the brand. It will gather some nuts, some die hard fans but ...
Too bad for Sony. And that comes from a former user of k700 and k750i - sonyericsson era when they where innovators and not that expensive. As I recall their phones had better specs and better price than the most hiped up brand at that era - Nokia (who was begginning to practice high prices for lower specs).
Nowadays, maybe they will sell in their domestic market like other nipon brands (Sharp, Victor, Panasonic etc).

If you base your opinion on looks of the device ... I can see they are not similar.
V60 has more Pro features, Sony has more Pro streamlined style of camera controls.

For half price anyone can buy Nubia red magic with better screen, better stereo, faster recharging, better battery, improved refresh rate and cooling and many else.
Same goes for Xiaomi or Realme flagships half price same specced device.
What Sony is thinking??? Half the planet does not work because of COVID19 and they think people will spend 1200 on a phone?!!!!?

I've bought my Z3 with 900 dollars. So the price is OK. But if I buy new flagship phone I will go for Xiaomi Mi 10/10 Pro or Oneplus 8 Pro. Sony midrangers are too underpowered. They are not worth to buy.
