AnonD-58102, 07 Jun 2012The price for this is insane! It should cost €250, at mo... moreYou know what? The cost of all individual components of an iPhone 4S and its production is 200 dollars only at maximum and yet apple is selling that crappy phone for four times its manufacturing cost. The camera of the PureView 808 alone is way more expensive than the iPhone 4S processor, screen, and camera altogether. If anything in the market that buying it will make you look stupid, it's the iPhone 4S.

N8 has beaten P&S cameras and came close to the canon 500D in some shots.
808 camera is a beast. it's pure technology not like the HTC 16MP "INTERPOLATED" resolution. hihihi
Looking forward for Lumia Pureview.

Iphone's photos are oversaturated and they may look good at the first sight but when you oversaturate 808's photos, you will see the huge difference... Sony NEX beats 808 in some of the pictures, but remember that it's an expensive mirroless camera...

AnonD-58102, 08 Jun 2012What a nonsense!
Have you seen videos captured by 808? T... moreI don't know which videos of 808 have you seen... People who don't know how to use a camera can make crappy videos even with a high-end DSLRs... There is a video called Spring in Finland with 808 or smth like this where 808 shows high-end DSLRs results (a tripod was used to capture that video)... I'm not saying that it's better or equal to high end DSLRs, but in some conditions it can capture DSLR quality videos...
And btw comparing SGS3 and iPhone 4S with 808 is like comparing a cheap P&S with a DSLR...

Check this out, 808 gets blasted by NEX, and iPhone 4(4, not 4S) beats it in some pictures too.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2012I'm amazed at the amount of pure hatred for this phone. Th... moreI don't think there's hatred for it...
I, for one, am glad that cameras on phones are getting more attention, I think it's something they could really do well, especially if xenon flash became the norm (and it almost did a few years ago before the ridiculous fixation on how 'thin' a phone needs to be!)
BUT
Let's be honest here, we're not talking about a camera with phone capabilities here... take a look at what £450 will get you in the camera world - look at the camera features it will buy you...
Now take a look at the Pureview camera features... bit of a difference, no?
When most / all Android phones are free with a contract, you could use that £450 to get a bl00dy amazing camera AND have the most advanced phone in the world...all for the same price...
Which would you choose?

wow ph, 08 Jun 2012nokia is certainly getting lots of attention... this one al... moreNokia is getting a lot of attention ... but not by the Nokia itself. C'mon if Samsung releases even an accesory for the Galaxy line they have an event, Nokia brings this on the market and nobody knows ...

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2012I'm amazed at the amount of pure hatred for this phone. Th... moreActually it is and one of the reasons is our boy Mr. Felop. I think it's job is to burry all non WP7 Nokia's projects. It started with N9 and that brilliant OS, now with Pureview 808 wich is more like a showcase for the pureview technology... and probably will remaint that way.
Isn't strange the phone was released on the market in Singapore(without bells and wissles thoug)and in the England is espected to arrive in the mid-late July because Nokia wants to tune video performance? In Singapore they sell it not tuned, with bugs?

I'm amazed at the amount of pure hatred for this phone. This phone is not about the OS at all, folks. Its a camera that just happens to have a phone attached to it. The 808 is also more of a development platform for Nokia and future Pureview products... hopefully one running WP7/8.

Ayman, 08 Jun 2012600 euro! WTH! I'll buy S2 plus a Canon camera with this price!SII in a pocket, the camera in another pocket(hopefully if you have large pockets) ... that's a lot of practicality.
But hey Nokia should sell this for free. C'mon that camera is junk(both photo, video and burst mode at higher resolution), that cristal clear recorded sound is junk, that dolby certification the same even thoug nobody complained about the price of already launched Galaxy SIII with last year's camera.

snow_speeder, 08 Jun 2012False, fool, untrue statements! it will live and shine in-f... moreLOL
Oh dear, oh dear, sounds like I hit a nerve there!
Not one of my statements is false I'm afraid, U.S. carriers aren't supporting it (check articles, etc.) go on to any UK seller - it's not there... Didn't Nokia themselves say it's got about a year left of support?
Developers certainly aren't making any latest apps for it... The resolution of the screen is 640 x 360 - lower than virtually all mid-range phones... I'd be surprised if any modern apps will work on it... with the screen resolution, etc...
And of course Lumia Pureview will indeed come out next year...!!!
Like I said, this phone is a definite for Nokia fanatics (like yourself) - and there's nothing wrong with that... but unless you're taking photo after photo after photo, this phone offers nothing more....
And at that price (on top of a contract) - only a handful will purchase... making support, etc. for it even less likely...
