sold my s10 and bought a p40 pro after being with samsung for 10 years.
Best decision ever, i got so tired of s10`s shitty fingerprint sensor that is present on s20 series too , battery was pretty bad on s10 exinos crap too.
The fingerprint and face recognition is miles above my s10 and the camera blows me away especially in the dark.
Took me 15 mins to install google and have all of my favorite google apps.
ZERO regrets .
I'm the type of guy who usually changes his phone every 2 years but i was so close to rage break my s10 because of fingerprint failling me on important situations that i couldn't stand it anymore.
Let's see in 2 years what each will have to offer but i have a feeling samsung won't convince me to come back to their overpriced crap.

I don't use banking apps or Google pay. I think I'll be fine using a Huawei phone.

None of them work on Huawei.
It is a dealbreaker for most people.
Best thing Huawei can do is get into the good books of Google and allow fully functional play services.

i will still go with dslr instead of a phone tho. I am professional photographer not a gimmick type of person.
