Production of Snapdragon 875 has started on TSMC's 5nm node

22 June 2020
The chip is expected to be officially announced around the end of this year, the first phones with it will come early next year.

Production this early? On a node that needs EUV machines and are super limited? With Apple needing all the fabrication much sooner for the iPhone? With no announcement whatsoever?

Not sure man.

looks like qualcomm is slowing down adreno GPU upgrade cycle , since there's no real competitors to it .
Hope the report are partially false and we get a new adreno 700 series instead of this lame update

This phone will power the Xperia 1 III and many others. I'm also looking forward for Samsung x AMD Exynos flagship. Samsung probably learned their lesson to use the latest chipsets like A78. Maybe the 2021 Exynos will use 2 X1 + 2 A78 + 4 A55 with RDNA 2 GPU (Hope they don't cheap out by using Vega)

on paper it looks good, in reality there is no big different, i have 7nm and 13nm chipset phone and i hardly see any difference apart from little heating which does not bother me
