nlc, 15 Jun 2012"If they chose Android do you think they could beat Sa... moreNokia Lumia N9, 800, 808 and much more of current high end phones are made of plastic and you know how cheap Nokia N9 is now? It's cheaper than Galaxy S2. That's right IT'S cheaper than a year old phones.
The market says that Nokia isn't making products that the people want to pay extra premium. Why can't you recognize it when it's too obvious?

too late, 15 Jun 2012nokia's ceo has NO VISION for the future, they are going th... moreAMD has a future. They admitted that they can't compete with Intel for a performance and AMD rather focuses on SoC market, which was a smart move.
Now all, yes all video game consoles will have IBM&AMD chips.
The company that really doesn't have a future is Nvidia.
The profit margin of graphic cards are shrinking and the powerful integrated vga by intel and amd are eating up the market share.
Even they finally come out and decided to make a mobile chips, Tegra, Nvidia aren't able to compete with exynos and snapdragon.
My guess is that both Nvidia and Nokia will be acquired by either M$ or Intel. But that's just my opinion...

Nokia is killing itself. Nokia was on a good path with maemo and the n900, tho it had some issues, was a great phone and OS and all they needed to do was build on that. They then abandoned the n900 and hurt the trust of their fan. Worse, after claiming a move from maemo to meego, they released one device...the N9 (which is a beast) and then shocked their fans with plans to kill meego and the N9. Ironically, the N9 generated so much interest that it had the potential to give Nokia well needed momentum to have a genuine chance to regain its clout. Now no one trusts Nokia, no one really likes Windows Mobile, and no one wants to buy an expensive device that lacks cutting edge features that even outdated Samsung phones had.
Nokia Needs a miracle's miracle

If I was a mean person I'd say that Elop is doing everything he can to bring Nokia down before he's sacked. But that wouldn't a nice thing to say so I won't.

Nokia are so 1990's early 2000's.
They had there time back then and raked in loads of cash, and sat on there laurels, why other providers moved on with new technology software etc.
Resting on there laurels is costing them big time now, I doubt they ever get back to what they was, as Nokia aint popular anymore.
ID never buy a nokia phone as there are better phones out there and has been for a number of years now.
My opinion only the die hard fans of Nokia who are in love with them will still buy there phones.

Real, 15 Jun 2012I think a more accurate description of the situation is Nok... more"If they chose Android do you think they could beat Samsung in price, features, and quality? I doubt it. The only thing Samsung was bad at was software. If they are using the same software as Nokia, Samsung will eat Nokia alive."
you're so funny "Real"... among the 3 aspects you mentioned, only the "Price" is true. Nokia phones are expensive while samsung phones are cheap, mainly because they used cheap materials which means low quality. with regards to "features" i think nokia have the capability to develop their own UI under android platform. most features found in samsung smartphones are common and any company using android and can have the same features.

Poor Nokia and its Employe's ... I feel really sorry for employes but this all happened just because of wrong decisions ...
Nokia N9 was a superb phone specially its design and display was fantastic but when i saw that there was no android i really disappointed and bought samsung galaxy s2
Im unable to understand that why Nokia is not hiring android as their OS ....?
This is the major thing that Nokia losed thier customers
Nokia have to learn lesson from Samsung ...
If Nokia didnt hired android then in coming years they will no more than ...

I personally think NOKIA should focus cheap handsets on emerging markets and exploit their new Lumia range in the more advanced mobile markets.
Lumia is doing well. And nokia should really be driving that home to the consumers. Its a great OS, but it needs more resources spent on promotnig it and improving the available functions too.
I'm an IOS user but unbiased across the spectrum of phone choices out there.

S40? How about improving your s60 smartphones like your C5-00.2 5mp to compete with the not-that-superb-but-popular android and iphones.
