Anonymous, 04 Jul 2020I think battery charging slowly beyond 80% is present on al... moreNah, it is just slower to charge a battery past a certain percentage, also, a special tech is used to squeeze as much as possible energy for the last percents, giving the illusion the natural filled battery when it is at 100%, but it isn't.
And to save battery life, slower charge should be applied everytime.
So, fast charging should be an enablable feature and not a constant thing we can't turn off.
It is practical when you need to change in a hurry, but most of the time, you don't really need super fast charging, battery management should make it better for the phone to charge overnight (and slowly) than fast charging during the day and manually unplug your phone.

In 2020,most brands except Huawei have made their phone pricing very high. Xiaomi and Oneplus are now $700 at the cheapest and base model of their lineup (Mi 10 and Oneplus 8), and even Poco F2 Pro rose by $200. So dissapointing. While Huaweo kept their price the same since the P30 Pro. Why? Because brands keep on focusing to bring features that don't matter but costs much. I am fine with the 108MP and periscope zoom, but not Samsung's bad 108 MP. Xiaomi don't even have problems with the sensors, but Samsung does, and Samsung is the maker of the sensor. Hope phone prices don't rise again.

AnonD-923722, 04 Jul 2020Stupid ideas. 40W/30W is fast enough and safe for most user... moreYup, I so agree with you. Of course super fast battery charging is great for short term use, but the battery life expectancy will decrease in long term use. I'd be more than happy to leave my phone slowly charging at night before sleeping rather than fast charging it during the day.

Quite clearly meant for laptops. Mobile phone batteries don't charge at 20V. Laptop SMPS, however, accepts 19.5V DC input and that's what the charger is rated for.

Anything over 1C charge rate isn't good for the battery. So a 5000mAh battery holds 18.5Wh of energy, it shouldn't be charged at over 20W on a regular basis.

Anonymous, 04 Jul 2020Or just replace the battery after 2 years and enjoy 50watt ... moreWhen you want to waste resources, money, time and kill water resistance and warranty, yes, then you can do so. If you can't change the battery by yourself you even have to waste more money by let it be done by a phone shop or directly by the manufacturer. The average user won't change the battery under their phone's glued back by themself, not even mentioning the fact that you'd need a heating gun getting the glue soft to get the glass back off. Last but not least my post was about what you can do to take care of your battery and prevent it from draining and aging faster than it actually has to.

Once we have chargers that can charge a phone to full in one hour, there'll be people clamoring for full charge in 30 minutes, then 10 minutes, they'll want it to be instant because according to them, phone companies are all doing this on purpose and wasting their precious time by intentionally not giving them the bestest best that those kinds of customers demand.

A dedicated power management chip and software options would greatly help !
120W with those 4 batteries is nice.
Here it is maybe for a laptop, but it would be awesome if we could just have an actually "smart" smartphone, for exemple, if you plug your phone, and it is during the time when you usually stop activities on it, and you have an alarm the next morning, it obviously mean the guy is sleeping, and a fast charge is totally useless here, an extra slow charge make actually more sense...
Options to limit the charge between the 40-80% sweetspot (some users don't need full charges) or super agressive 50-60% best healthy range, to limit batteries degradation.

Tons of small things can be done to improve batteries lifespan, like using capacitors to allow proper discharge cycles.
But they don't care about doing that sadly...

Graphene battery, 04 Jul 2020Love to see Samsung grapheme battery and oppo supervooc cha... moreGraphene itself isn't THE solution, there are multiple things that have to be done.
Solid State batteries themselves have tons of advantages, one of them is that they allow to use Sodium.
Switching from Lithium to Sodium for many ecological reasons, it is also cheaper and could potentially outperform Lithium.
Carbon Nanotubes also showed really interesting capacity boost abilities.

Combine all that, a graphene and carbon nanotube solid sodium electrolyte battery, and you have the future :D
But we aren't at that level yet, we can make any combinaisons of two of them, but not much more, though graphene solid sodium have been prototyped.

If you charge Apple devices at higher Watt charging, they'll explode coz those phones aren't designed to handle higher Watt fast charging.
