European countries don't have guts to take on China. Their entire economies depend on manufacturing in China. The day China retaliates, many companies in Europe will close down.

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2020Man it isn't that hard to switch to other brands like ... morei think it is not that easy to avoid Huawei with the 5G as they as far as I know do a very good job with their towers but of course at the cost of complete and utter transparancy of all your data to the chinese communist party, Huawei's execs are all part of the CCP, the government has shares from Huawei. and to top it all they could get sensible data from politicians and and other high sensibility material from tech companies to government data etc. God knows what they can extract with those 5G towers

I wasn't aware orange was state-run and so went to look it up, wikipedia at least implies it's a publicly traded company?

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2020Man it isn't that hard to switch to other brands like ... moreBecause obviously they're talking about smartphones, huh? Because obviously Xiaomi and Oneplus are also manufacturers of 5G telecommunications equipment, huh?

Had you even bothered to read the article you'd know they're talking about 5G equipment. How are you supposed to switch from Huawei to Xiaomi or Oneplus when they don't make communications equipment?

Man it isn't that hard to switch to other brands like Xiaomi or OnePlus. But nobody wants Huawei's death.

That's a classic French non-solution, isn't it? "It's probably bad for your health, but what can we do?"
