Don't forget their 18W USB PD solution generates more heat than proprietary Chinese fast charging tech. Therefore those batteries are degrading faster despite slower charging speeds compared to Chinese brands.

    25W is the ideal charging wattage for me (20W is borderline slow) with at least 4k battery or 1 day standby or 6 hours screen time.

        fast charge only hurt batteries in long run, better charge slow at night then fast... but if u wanna destroy your new phones battery then go ahead.....

          More Wattage matters as long as it's two batteries or more instead of one but that will eat up all the space for a flagship and it should have a headphone jack in there.

            From a consumer standpoint - no. 100w fast charging is just overkill at this point.

            From a R&D standpoint - Yes. The smaller the brick can get, the better - since this will also affect the laptop market.

                People don't understand that using such a high wattage charger will significantly reduce the battery efficiency over time compared to current chargers. You'll basically need to replace your battery every year at least, or get a new phone if your battery fails.

                  I used wireless and sometimes an old 5w charge plug because I charge when my phone is on downtime, I have a fan system for my wireless charger and it doesn’t heat the charger or phone (to the touch) not sure about internal heat of course.

                  As I said each to their own, some want fast charging some prefer slower , I’m in the slower category

                    Natural wear and tear of products, materials and natural chemical degradation still happen regardless of charge speed, I’d just rather not stress the battery if I can help it, plus I always use slow charge as soon I get home and it’s always charged before bed.

                    Fast charge is ok if you care more for rapid continuous usage of your device over longevity of that devices battery.

                      something else: i see a lot of people fearing "overcharging" the accu if the phone is left in the charger... as a matter of fact most phones have a safety piece of software that prevents exactly this from happening.

I agree it's cool, maybe if you even have a patience of 10 mins to charge it up to 80% it might degrade the battery slower, but it's not convenient. I like your ideas but I'm just not the one to use them. And as I have said, my proof is the 40° that only black sharks should achieve

Should be even more user friendly if over air which is why cable is still better. Important is to take it as seriously as wired charging or we may never see that over air feature.
                                    The same as with audio, its important to have both at least until alternative is better. Fast charging on wireless is therefore way more important as it means we get closer to that future, one on wire is like obvious, difference is mostly on the outside.

The "healtiest" voltage is 3.7, anything above or below speeds up the degradation. 40-80% is roughly 3.6-4.0V.

                                      It's been a long time since I read the tests, maybe stuff has changed. Do you have any source for the 90-96 cutoff? Is that in regard to 4.2V?
