*(in fast t/c guy voice), 5 minutes only refers to half battery, for full battery u have to stand by the charger for 15 minutes and was possible under test conditions, ur performance may vary. (even faster legal guy voice) manufacturer is not liable for exploding phones.

That temperature problem is literally the first thing the engineers would tackle...

Really nice! The emphasis needs to be on safety and protection of the battery, which I’m glad to see that Qualcomm is taking just as seriously as the actual charging speed.
Hopefully, the Snapdragon 775 will support QC5. It’s pretty much impossible for the 875 to not support it, but I hope that this feature will make it to next year’s premium mid-range SoCs too (such as the above mentioned 775).

It's like being forced to memorize the lyrics of a song that's entirely new to you in one day versus being recommended the same new song for you to take your time to listen to it whenever you want until you fall in love with it and gradually start remembering the lyrics without even forcing yourself to do it.

Chargers 30W and above are all commonly suspected to heat up considerably much, as if the phones themselves are running some super heavy application that requires all the power from the SoC, and often they trespass the certain ceiling limit of the battery's comfortable temperature range, so they degrade much faster than charging to normal speeds.

Who in the right mind would climb a mountain without proper gears and materials needed for such journey? Besides, I'd rather carry around a heavy power bank than a useless charger since there's no power outlet on a mountain anyway. Again, practicality speaking, power bank is a much more meaningful device than super fast chargers.
Phones with mediocre battery life definitely do need to use power banks, and they're much more convenient as the phone can still be carried around everywhere, and not have to wait until the battery is fully charged. Be it 5 minutes to 100% or 1 hour, power banks still allow the user to go anywhere without needing to wait for the phone to charge completely. Besides, most people don't really need to top off to maximum. Even up to 60% is enough for them for the most part to survive the day, considering they'd go home at around 6PM anyway. And now that we're all quarantined to our homes, everyone has the access to a power outlet and they can charge their phones any time they want and for endless hours, so the need for a fast charger isn't even necessary anymore.
Again, I said we should just move to faster charging if the batteries are capable enough of handling such wattages. It's been proven many times already that no matter how advanced Lithium batteries have become, they are still incapable of being charged to insane levels without being destroyed. 40W and above are simply overkill for smartphone batteries, and no matter how hard you try, they would still degrade quickly when the same charging practice is repeated on a daily basis.

Yes it is still a habit, because the user has the choice to use lower wattage for charging, but the manufacturers are forcing us to use higher ones as part of their planned obsolence. You certainly know that a manufacturer is concerned about user's satisfaction than profit if they take extra precautionary measures to prolong the battery health even further.
Basically, anything that harms the battery is bad, regardless if it's a habit or not. Besides, it IS a habit because you constantly do it on a regular basis. Assuming you keep using your Redmi phone for 2 years with a 10W charger that came with it, then I must say 70% is a terrible capacity for such period of time, as my Redmi 5 Plus, which I have also been using for 2 years is still above 80% with the same 10W charger from the box.
Not everyone has the intelligence to do phone repairs by themselves. Even if they do, the risk is still high for someone who definitely has no experience towards performing such task. Better yet, the components should last long rather than having to replace them. A thousand dollar phone must have all the highest quality materials possible.

Even Tesla car battery is not that efficient for its price.

As we know there's no breakthrough technology in energy or battery, the newer version of QC is just another management chip for higher watt with compromise on another part. Newer QC is just another marketing tool for brand to leverage their product.
Do i missed power bank which support QC to charge its power bank ? As far i know, mostly power bank with QC support using QC to charge phone, not to charge itself. There's must be reason behind it.
