Xiaomi Mi A4 not coming as Android One program gets the axe

I hope this source is only pressuming it!
Xiaomi's Android One series is more than numbers, but it is a matter of INITIATIVE! If Xiaomi abandon the "A family" it will be a "shoot in the foot", as a legion of fans will detonate the brand!

I have been using the A2 Lite for almost 2 years now, and very pleased with the unit. Used to get regular updates, and moved to Android 10 earlier this year. I have only two complaints, Some Apps don't play nice with Android Q, and crash. The other, there hasn't been a security update since Feb 2020 (used to be monthly). Other than that I would say it's been an excellent phone. Didn't upgrade to the A3, because there wasn't that much of a gap between versions to justify getting new phone. So I was looking forward to the A4. But if it doesn't happen, I guess I will look at getting the new pixel. Vanilla Android is the way to go. There is no reason why there should be added software in a phone that I own that can't be removed.

Should be at least 765 ora even something 845,855 for this price to make sense. Pixel 4 cost 580 euro and thats pretty much on par with the phones with 865 and 855+ Pixel XL is only 6.3 inch screen phone and cost 700 euro with sd855
Weird part is that Pixel 4 have smaller screen then 4a but is bigger with 340mAh less battery too. Other competition in that prace range pack 4000-5500mAh batteries

So now Nokia can set out more of the worst hardware in the market phone but there phones still go like hot cakes for the pure android fans. So let them raise more of there prices for there hot garbage devices. I dont have any different experience with Miui then i have had with pure android so i go good hardware low price first and OS second or third as the last one i care. Xiaomi get me 1 major android update and few security updates too and i am happy with it

In 5 minutes you can clear your phone, even the crap from Google.

Becouse all that Nokia is slowly dieing, Motorola is in a deep s..t and pixel is almost nowhere.
And Apple is now shrinking by few milions a year exactly for same one reason: freedom of choice is slowly deseapear.

Also I have never seen any ads on MIUI apps & system. ads are being showed by and can not be disabled on pre-installed google apps and playstore apps

After a long wait for Mi A4 ... I bought Nokia 7.2
I had 3 Xioami phones all running MIUI.
I was fed-up with tons of bloatware.
Now settled with Android One happily.
Also waiting for Nokia 8.3

This is the most shocking and most sad news for me. I've been waiting for A4 soon after A3. I wish the A4 to come back

This is a sad news. Android One is the only way to get a no bloat experience for cheap. OnePlus has a great skin, clean with minimal bloat, but even the new Nord is twice the price of Mi A2.
Nokia is the only one left in the Android One program, but designed wise they seem a bit dated. Plus, it's a pain to unlock the bootloader on Nokia phones.
Some people like MIUI and that's fine. But personally I feel MIUI is too Apple-y in the way they "tailored" the experience for simple people (for example, Battery Optimization is on by default on all apps and that really bugs me) and they hide the more advanced settings. Plus the ads, which is a big blunder! And I hate that I can't left swipe to dismiss on a notification!
Damn. I might have to go for the latest Redmi Note Pro next year and install Lineage OS on it.
