The fact that it says, not focused on the general consumers hints it's not going to be top line specs. That's really sad. Whatever the design, hope it has powerful specs to last a few years and possibly all the productivity they keep talking about.

P.s. typing this from a blackberry phone

Real.Talk, 20 Aug 2020- 4,6" 16:9 (1600 x 900) , Gorilla 6 ??? Why 4.6&qu... moreA terrible opinion for a 6,9" with a physical keyboard. He(Anonymous) just try to describe a secure business phone. And you expect a flagship? Man! you need to learn more about a phone. It's not just about a flaship. The Snapdragon 690 will be a good midrange 5G SOC and nothing wrong with 'em.

            Real.Talk, 20 Aug 2020- 4,6" 16:9 (1600 x 900) , Gorilla 6 ??? Why 4.6&qu... more- Small screen because it will surely have physical keyboard like Key 2. You cannot put 6.9" screen. 4,6" 16:9 is Sony Z3c.

            - 4,6" 16:9 is enough for HD. Even FHD is too much.

            - BB is not making flagship. Ppl should stop saying 6xx is weak, most of them are stronger than 810. Few (662 and above) are stronger than 821.

            - 64/128 + sd slot is more than enough. Not all of us turn phone into PlayStation and use 70GB just with games.

            - small screen does not need big battery.

            - Sharp Aquos Zero or Zero II has carbon fiber. Phone has less than 140g.

alleluia...... my keyone broke and using the evolve right now and was contemplating getting a 5g samsung but with this news i will wait and get a real phone. A 5g bb...

Anonymous, 20 Aug 2020Would like to see an another slider phone from Blackberry. ... moreI also think a Priv 2 type handset would be an sensible idea.

The Priv was a well-thought-out smartphone, had a nice amoled screen (even curved for the posers) decent build quality although a little chunky, headphone jack (remember those?) a passable 3400mAh battery BlackBerry software and so on.

                For me the flaws were:

                1. The Snapdragon 808 processor (which was not Qualcomms finest moment)

                2. The slide out keypad was too flat and had poor feedback, tactility and felt like MacBook scissor switch key travel torture to those used to the Bold, Curve and Classic keyboards.

                3. Price was a little high because BlackBerrys brand power was at an all-time low and they really needed to give the fans a little extra freebie to keep them satisfied and appreciated.

Im a BIG BlackBerry fan so i understand the significance of this announcement to all who are part of the CrackBerry family and i hope this all works out.

My number 1 request would be that the keypad used is of the (4 row) variety found on the Classic and NOT the (3 row) variety used on the PASSPORT.

Other than that, everything else is open for discussion for me and I can wait to see what is created for the keyboard lovers in 2021.

                  Anonymous, 19 Aug 2020What I would do : - design of Key 2 - 4,6" 16:9 ... more- 4,6" 16:9 (1600 x 900) , Gorilla 6 ???

Why 4.6" ? Why can't it be at least 5" ? Do you not have 5 fingers or maybe just 4.6 of them ?

6.9" sounds great for me though !

Also, less than Full HD ? Seriously ? 1440P standard at least... Gorilla Glass 7 Victus is out as well...

                  - SD690, 6GB, 64/128GB ???

S875 flagship performance now to be up to date...

                  - 3450 mAh ???

4K mAh is the standard now...

                  - carbon fiber body with metal frame ???

Carbon fiber is expensive which is why it is not used in phones and most have metal frames anyway...

This might be expensive since it target an enterprise users.. but i hope blackberry and their new partner will consider releasing this to the mass consumers ..

I still believe blackberry still have one of the best security on mobile even running on android .. or else i just gonna rely on apple & samsung knox for security..

Goodluck reaching a global market for bb & their new partner.

Spanky, 20 Aug 2020ROFL, BB is living in the 2000s. No wonder no one heard of ... moreAnd there are some people that don't feel like carrying around a Bluetooth keyboard. Also some people who want to use a physical keyboard to send texts and emails while on a train or ferry so a Bluetooth keyboard is a no-go.

Don't get me wrong, it's not for me but don't undermine people that actually have been craving this design for a while. That's like telling compact phone lovers to suck it up and enjoy your larger-than-life phones.

ROFL, BB is living in the 2000s. No wonder no one heard of them for years. Physical keyboards? Anyone who needs a physical keyboard can get a bluetooth one, without wasting half of the phone’s screen-to-body ratio.

BB is sick and needs emergency heart 💓 transplant

                                    yes!!! bb coming strong!

I wonder how much they paid for this ad, while on the project stage?

Other keyboard phones like the FxTec.com Pro1 that started shipping last fall is still completely ignored in here... So much for objective tech news...

But that apart (if this ever materialises of course), it would be nice to see more devices not just being ordinary slabs. The more variance in what is offered the more users that can find a device that suit their needs&wishes.
