This is the most complete flagship of this year. No compromises. In EU where samsung offers only exynos, Xperia 1ii or 5ii is the only choice if you want performance on android with GMS.

Anonymous, 20 Sep 2020Of course Note 20 has S Pen! Do Xperia phones have it?How about the no sd slot, no jack, gorilla 5 and plastic back?
If even sony can afford GG6 on their midranges like 10ii and 8 Lite, I suppose Samsung has money to avoid plastic on Note 20 and A series.

I've had the original Z1 compact, I was so happy I then upgraded to the XZ1 compact and now that it's time to upgrade there are no compact flagships. Had this been 15mm shorter it would have been a no brainer for me, regardless of screen size. But as it stands my only option right now is to hope for a compact pixel 5 or get an outdated S10e

1)the dynamic ra... moreSo, you want to compare a phone that uses HDR 100% of the time and other that uses only when it judges necessary?
Turn off HDR on other phones. You will see what happens.
Zero to do with DR.
10ii has night mode.
Results are inferior to 1 and 5.
Let alone compared to 1ii.
Easy to solve. Set shutter 5s.

Should launch 7" instead... super wide screens are almost unusable horizontally, better if they are at least bigger, good old 16:9.

I think those who call the Xperia overpriced must look at this comparison to an iPhone 11. Both phones are flagship grade, and positioned slightly below the top models, and since the iPhone is almost $900 here, I'll explain how the 5 II is much better, to show where the real value lies
LCD screen on the 11 vs OLED on 5 II
60 Hz RR vs 120 Hz
120 Hz touch sampling vs 240 Hz
4 GB RAM vs 8 GB
3100 mAH battery vs 4000 mAH
Dual vs Triple camera setup with AF tracking
4K recording @ 60 FPS vs 120 FPS on the 5 II
64 GB base storage vs 256 GB
Notch display vs Clean, unobstructed display
No 3.5 mm jack vs 3.5 mm jack on the Xperia with Hi-Fi audio
No Fingerprint sensor vs Side mounted sensor
Ugly design vs Beautiful design
The Sony offers great value still, even at 900$. Also included is a gaming bundle worth $400. See for yourself, where lies the real value, but people just go ahead and buy an iPhone just 'because it's an iPhone' and that's just absurd

Sony please i have some concerns solve it
1)the dynamic range is below the standards of a flagships, qnd there is still no night mode, why? 150 usd phones have night modes, makes these two things better, and you have one of the best and most capable setups on the market
2)while i am not really thinking this is overpriced. The other consumers definitely will, if sony can bring down the price to about 800 usd, this thing will become kind of a bargain, considering at 800 there is no real competition, op 8 pro ar 900,s20s at 1000 or above, lgs under 800,so this spot is untaken
3)i dont think a bigger battery will us.
4)6.1 is every thing but compact, yes the phone is very slim, but long is also what it is, bring rhe size down to 5.8 inches next time, and as i said there is again no competition at this size
I hope one day, sony will listen to there customers, to their fans and will make what we love

Anonymous, 20 Sep 2020SD 865 >> Exynos 990 on S20 any day no matter how you... moreComparing this phone with S20 Snapdragon is valid. The S20 is actually easier to use with one hand than Xperia 5 mk I despite the width of the Xperia is narrower. The S20's rear body is curvy, making it easier to grip.
