Sony Uk "you are always developing new phones" ?!?!?! You have an agreement to update the phones OS for a period of 18 months!

You just want us to buy new phones every year, not caring at all for customers care; same thing with your photographic cameras which you rarely provide updates.

A company that tells me for me to get their next year new phone in order to have the latest OS, is a company I couldn't care less since they dont care for me at all.

Guess what, for me the next phone will be a Google phone. Problem solved. Done with Sony. And selling my Sony camera, and will get the new xbox rather than the playstation. No Bravia tvs either.

That's what Apple and Nokia have that many other companies don't get it, they provide continuous support for their old products!!!! And that's why they have a huge fan base and loyal customers.

You let Satio go down, don't you do the same on Xperia S. July is gone w/o mouth-watering ICS update, you're rather wasting ammo on redesigning the NXT gen life in the business. About time to show some love, here!

Calm down people, first off all, as you may know, this is not Android or Google fail. so please don't say anything about ios or symbian or any other os.
I say this is not Android fail because there are some phones with 800MHZ cpu and outdated gpu (adreno200) which are delivering ICS out of the box (e.g Xperia tipo). so if LG don't want to deliver ICS to its dual-core phone, it's LG fail.
I'm sure JellyBean would even run smooth on low-end phones (as you would see in the future), but updating old phones to a new version of OS is not a simple process and needs time and money.
But, I'm sure some companies are out there that doesn't respect to their customers and just want to sell their newer phones, which I'm sure SONY is NOT one of them.

AnonD-44151, 27 Jul 2012Who said no proper running CM9? I am running CM9 myself on ... moreIt wasn't a "dig" towards "xda developers", just a fact that if you go right now to the Cyanogenmod site, download the latest RC and install then it will not work straight away.

                                  Previous RC didn't either.

I am not saying you cannot put it to work (which obviously you can and I also have).
It's just disappointment to see a package which (by itself) will not work being called RC -- twice!

That is not a good foretell of "quality control".
PS: by "xda developers" I suppose you do mean "Team FXP" in this case.

shan, 27 Jul 2012thats a gud news for xperia 2011 phones because ics on xper... moreWell, ICS on my Arc is nice but unstable. I think they could handle JB really nice because JB is faster so I assume lighter for the ram...
Sony did a great job on supporting 2011 Xperias untill this day. Updates took long it is a fact, but always came and we had plenty of them. I don't see any real reason for not getting JB and they Sony should do it.
If they reconsider and deliver JB, they will do a lot of very happy costumers, if they don't they will piss off a lot of loyal user, which had fair good support but not as good as expected.
Thank God I didn't buy those silly LG phones...
Sony, if you reconsider this, delivering JB to '11 xperias will be like the cherry on top of the cake.

Hi buddy. Which country r u from? I m from india & got ICS for my mini pro a month ago, i m pretty alright wid the update keeping in mind that all my friends which have sammy or htc, are stuck on GB. I m sure that sony 4 sure will stabilize its ICS in further updates.
And i was not defending any company, was just telling the fact, wasn't I? Updating the version of an OS is indeed a hectic & time-taking process, thats why companies r not interested in "wasting" their time on updating already sold cheap phones, rather update their flagship phones or launching new devices. My point was just that why of all companies only sony decided to update its all-year portfolio, thats why i was appreciating their efforts...
