Mag82, 27 Jul 2012Wake up geez! Sony should be giving us updates for at least... moreMate! Apple don't belong in this debate maybe because they only have 4 models in their entire lineup history...easier for them to give a little love to their old phones yes? SONY launched at lest 10 different models only on 2011, and 2012 is hitting that way too. They already updated almost their entire 2011 Xperias lineaup to ICS unlike all other companies, so give a little respect!

nick, 27 Jul 2012looks like only samsung and htc can be trustedShut up. Sony didnt promise jellybean so apart from xperia play they've kept their promises. Sammy are betreyers who produce top spec phones and then say they're not advanced enough to update. That's how they sell so many because people are forced to buy a new handset for the latest software and why choose Samsung? Because they've got the best flagship phone. I don't particularly like apple but I hope they sue Sammy for every penny. And- if apple was copying off Sony then Samsung must be too coz they're copying apple so that makes Sony absolutely awesome!

Outside the box, 27 Jul 2012And to make matters worst, Cyanogenmod hasn't been able to ... moreWho said no proper running CM9? I am running CM9 myself on my Mini Pro. And it is working so perfectly. Anyways, it is not a kernel bug. It is a boot loader bug. Sony bootloader makes it a compulsion to install a kernel of a specific size. That's why it did not work.

Jellybean is already being ported to Xperia MDPI. AOSP and CM10 both. Soon they will be quiet stable for daily use.

So basically, xda developers are doing an awesome job.

nick, 27 Jul 2012looks like only samsung and htc can be trustedYes, you can trust sammy like their Galaxy S costumers tnat we're promised ICS and that didn't even receive or their 2011 phones that won't recive ICS anyway. So you can trust sammy xD. I think In this field SONY kick ass because all their Xperia 2011 (except Play) received ICS unlike Samsung. HTC did give ICS to a few old phones but not enough. Now tell me, wich of these promised Jelly Bean to their 2011 phones because I want to see that mate ahahaha go take nap will you ;)

ICS rocks on xperia 2011 phones !!! I am happy user of ICS

Well, I can't say I'm surprised about the 2X. It's a horribly, horribly underpowered device. Could be wrong, though, maybe it's not its 512 MB of RAM, maybe it's just that LG can't code properly...

On the positive side, it's officially supported by CyanogenMod. :)

And to make matters worst, Cyanogenmod hasn't been able to deliver a RC of their CM9 that actually works just as it is (their RCs have some sort of kernel bug, which requires you to be creative and try the kernels of FreeXperia).

If that's how CM9 is, when the time comes for CM10 things won't be much better (in fact, they can only get worst, since the team has to split resources to work on the newer Xperias -- which are yet to get CM/FXP).

Sony should be giving us updates for at least 24 months due to phone contracts lasting this long. Plus the iphone 3GS is still getting updates and how long has than been around?? Sony are really letting us down I have an arc s and ics runs really bad on it. I know what ya gunna say Sony told us that upgrading to ics will cause problems due to only having 512mb RAM but I know of other devices out there with 400mhz lower prosser power and the same amount of RAM running sweet on ics but due to Sonys sloppyness my device is so slow. My upgrade is due soon but im aint even thinking of touching Sony.

Hey c'mon guys, how can u be so rude to the company which is most dedicated of them all in providing latest updates to its customers & Sony is the only company which is atleast trying to stress their mind about updates. Midrangers like xperia neo v, pro & even android-starters like xperia mini & Live with walkman are enjoying the ICS (despite buggy atleast they are having it, bugs can be corrected in future updates) but what about those phones of others which didn't go beyond GB.
LG has crorssed limits by not feeding ICS to its even dual-core droids, i mean people already hesitate buying LG phones & by doing this they've just helped customers in clearing their doubts..
Lets talk about samsung -"__ ". Thats it. Thats the much samsung bothers about s/w updates. Sony is the only manufacturer to which customer service & satisfaction actually matters...
