Are U bashing android?!xD you're so blind, I can buy a €200 Android and do what your great €500 iphone can do and more with thousands of free apps hahaha man android kick ass everytime even when the rotten apple makes injunctions against certain android manufacters! Apple is a great company in the laptop section because on the mobile I know for a fact 70% of the iphone buyers only have it for vip status (I work in a telecomunications store). On the updates, you may not have at one point for a specific model but you have thanks to the open source and XDA developpers ;) so bye bye and good luck with your nazi phone!

How funny people are mentioning that WP has better update!
WP actually they took a dump on their users literally! WP7 will not be updated to WP8... Lumia 900 released for less than 3 months and its already outdated!
And IPhone LOL they only have 3 phones to be updated and they share the same hardware and size so it will be shame if they don't... 3GS 4 doesn't have Siri nor Apple maps and other features so its a useless update just changing numbers in baseband to fool you they have updated it.
And you can't blame Android for the manufactures because Samsung is doing a great job and XDA too.

It's clearly that u upset with LG..so for ur future smartphone I advice u to go for Sony..at least, the 2011 Xperia model still getting ICS update (unless Xperia Play)

Just buy an Iphone its worth the extra amount you pay for the software support and upgrade. Just imagine 3gs still having support for the coming IOS 6

For me, if u want the best updates, go for Samsung or HTC :) Just make sure ur going to pick a high end bcause it is what we consider as future proof phone, another one, samsung and htc has a large dev. Community so it has the best custom roms than the rest. Even though my Galaxy S i9000 is already left out, I'm enjoying my 4.0.4 RemICS ryt now :D

Anonymous, 27 Jul 2012well, there isn't any device that got 3 android updates oth... moreI actually think it is the Galaxy S i9000 mate :) From being a 2.1 eclair, it was updated to Froyo and the last is GB which has many versions ranging from 2.3.3 - 2.3.6 , Sony X10 has 1.6 Donut, 2.1 Eclair and 2.3 Gingerbread and as of now, no more updates :)

What you are describing is the hardware becoming obsolete, it no longer has the power to deliver an adequate experience and then it is up to the owner to decide it's course of action.
Exactly the opposite of what is happening here.
Here you have older phones with much higher CPU power and larger RAM than some newer (lower-end) phones but, because of artificial limitations/"company policy" to make you spend money, the more powerful phones (but one year older) do not get the latest version of the OS while less powerful (lower-end, but new) phones will get it.
This is the most blatant insult to anyone's intelligence.

this was the first time and last that i have bought an lg phone...the lg optimus 2x was their first dual core phone, how could they do this when they clearly stated that it would come...i learn from my mistakes, so goodbye lg piece of shit

Very disappointing to hear this from LG. I have just recently( maybe week or so ago) contacted LG and asked them when ICS is starting to roll out on my device (optimus 2x), they replied that from September and onwards. I was really surprised when I saw this topic ;O LG brought big shade on its name. First they release phone with outdated OS, then it takes ages for them to finally get it to point where it should have been in the first place and now they cancel update, which they promised to deliver... I'm sure hardware isn't a limitation here, well 512 ram may look a bit too low for multitasking on ICS, but it's managible. It sad that LG doesn't keep their promises. I was looking forward to ICS since 2.3 was huge improvement over 2.2 it fixed lot of bugs and it felt silk smooth compared to it's predecessor, though LG launcher still sucked... anyway it is LG decision to make... Lose costumers and sh@t..

to those who's complaining about no jellybean update on 2011 xperia line up is that...SONY ERICSSON no longer exist..be happy atleast they made their ics update(xplay excluded)..SONY is now focusing on their SONY phones not SONY ERICSSON..
i too also SE user..proud owner of WT19i live with walkman..running on REAL ICS r5..just flash some roms..im sure u'll be satisfied..be happy to what they've provide..be contented..world peace..hahahahaha

UK Xperia Arc S will not get the JB update.. But the rest of us will. And still, Do not worry..... XDA is working for you... By winter.. the XDA's JB will be better than any Shiznit Sony will ever do as an update software..
