Not really, 28 Jul 2012It's a major *usability* update, not a major update in the ... moreI understand your statement, ICS is not perfect but i don't think is faulty. Users will not get JB but this isn't their final statement, there can be product updates to resolve some issues. I think the problem here is that we can't blame SONY for that...all companies do this, at least in the history of updates SONY made some effort to bring ICS to their consumers unlike others. But now their 2012 lineup wich they have to give more attention if they to continue in the Android Race...and thing I value hte most with SONY is that at least 7 of their 12 announced Xperias will get JB update probably...and Samsung will bring it only for SIII. This is why Samsung is supposebly the No.1, they sell sell sell but updates don't bother, only for flagship but has a limit also.

simple. kill off updates on unprofitable or problematic products n show consumer a newer phone for them to buy. that's how they make profit

In fact that is the worst part of this practice. Because this is an artificial limitation that manufactures like Sony are "making up", it is highly unclear what will happen should anything go wrong (security or otherwise) with ICS. Will they just leave their costumers stranded with a faulty product?
I vote with my money. If people started doing the same this wouldn't be the common practice amongst manufacturers.

thats why i prefer Apple Iphone. each time an update comes, it goes down to the iphone which can support that specification wise..
