30 July, 2012
The move comes reportedly due to HTC's inability to compete with Samsung on its home turf.

This is a sad news. HTC is my favourite mobile brand. They are just excusite but they are loosing ground. Sony is loosing money continuously for 3 years, which is my favourite brand in the world(i knw evry 1 of u had atleast 1 Sony product and u knw u were satisfied). Its bad for us loosing brands like these. To tell u the truth, i never liked Samsung(it was a cheap brand), Apple(too expensive than what it delevers), Huawei(again a cheap and unrelieable brand).... Now we are loosing Blackberry. We the customers are being fool. We like sammys cheap loking mobile than sonys smartphone. We dnt buy htcs cool phones but we buy the year old iphone. Wht we r trying to prove?

htc is a great maker of beautiful handsets but all they lack is the marketing strategy and skills. they have the best user interface so far , the SENSE and best looking phones which r damn good in quality too and very durable. but marketing fails them everywhare. i am a proud owner of htc one x and i have no probs on the phone at all , it runs damn good. i rather dont like samsung phones cause they r just bunch of poor plastic body and every phone and a old school user interface which is not worth a penny. the only thing samsung is running good is cause of their marketing plans which r far more better. htc learn some marketing, iam a great fan of ur fan. good luck

None of them really improved upon the LAG on a QUADCORE phone. EVEN rooted this thing and on SENSE roms it STILL lags. One X owners should really stop lying to themselves.

This is deserved. You've lost me as a customer as well, as an unhappy htc one x owner. Lets just hope you hit the ground as fast as Nokia. For the amount of money i lashed out for the HOX i feel abused.

AnonD-64932, 30 Jul 2012I'm wondering why some consumers so concern about whether a... moreI tell why in my opinion...if a company starts to lose ground and not getting proffits, someday that same company will not invest in quality phones or still invests and starts losing money instead of gaining it. This is bad for us consumers, because price quality could increase and we don't want that. For example I like SONY and I know they are also losing ground and losing money but still are creating new models every month since this 2012 started and if this effort don't pays off they are in deep sh**...I don't imagine this mobile market without SONY designs and acessories :( hope they will overcome their losses. And for example I consider Motorola similar to SONY with great designs and acessories also, and even belonging to google they don't overcome their losses to, in fact if wasn't for Moto, google's proffits could be higher. Can U imagine a mobile world without SONY, MOTO and HTC? Where the survivors may be Huawei, ZTE, Alcatel, Apple and SAMSUNG! Hope NOT!

I'm wondering why some consumers so concern about whether a phone company making profit or not. Apple makes a lot of profit but i don't buy an iphone, instead i bought a motorola and HTC.

Samsung releases many ... moreThat's a good assessment; HTC devalues its old phones and it took a while for some of them to get ICS. I've used an S2, One X and Sensation XE, and the Samsung S2 was far superior for playing videos and getting a good internet connection. There always seems to be a problem playing videos on the HTCs; the Samsung loads them immediately and plays them without any issues, delays, restarts etc. HTC does not seem to know how to get good performance from its high-spec phones. HTC makes the best looking phones but it just cannot match Samsung for speed and performance.

RIM, Nokia, Motorola, HTC.....all seem to be merely staying afloat. If they all wind up going the way of the dodo I just can not imagine how terrible it will be for consumers regarding choice

Samsung releases many models but one flagship per year.
HTC releases one flagship at the begining of the year hen starts working and improving over older models leading the flagship to become the lowen end device at the end of the year an dleaving their customers in regret 4 waisting all that amount of money.

                                  that is just wrong.

I have the One S (black with Snapdragon 4 and 1.5ghz) and it's my dream phone and I love it and have had no problems with it. Wish HTC will continue to innovate and release even cooler phones than the One Series.
