Anonymous, 19 Nov 2020Just move on from that pathetic reasoning ... 3.5mm jack is... moreFor your info, all the actual pathetic reasons provided by these phone manufacturing companies for not having 3.5mm jack, none of them are actually true. Neither they started making phone which is 4mm in thickness and it's not that world's 1st waterproof (1.5m up to 30 min or so) phone is made only after they removed 3.5mm. They simply wanted to follow Apple thinking that they will be premium brand like Apple if they do so and also just want you to buy Bluetooth headset or connectors which you keep losing every now a then.

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2020Just move on from that pathetic reasoning ... 3.5mm jack is... moreI pity on you for spending $1500 and not having basic functionality like 3.5mm jack. It is deal breakers for millions like me who need better sound quality and also health cautious and don't want to put it on risk by using Bluetooth headset.

Does it has 3.5mm Jack? If not then one more useless release by Oppo and in my view they are continue to blindly follow Apple. These companies are not understanding that Apple users will not go anywhere even if Apple sell them crap (they are almost actually) which is not worth $100 for $2000.

Anonymous, 18 Nov 2020Accidental touches are actually the opposite of the issue a... moreYeah, that's an almost insolvable problem, except if you use machine learning to adapt to each users, there will always be users that have false rejection and other having false touch...

It could be useful though, if you want to make long exposure, a pseudo gimbal stabilisation could help making the shot sharper, also the edges are compressed which mean it is even more sensitive to vibrations, normally it isn't much of an issue as the Ultra-Wide have a short exposure, but it could become a great low light camera.
Though ideally one would combine all lenses type into a single camera.
You can either use a zoom that will have a shorter field of view than the typical ultra-wide and less magnification than the typical telephoto, like the regular zoom on non-compacts.
Or do something like my double periscope design :
                              https://imgur.com/gallery/tIXYDCW

Now imagine a Find X3 with a single front element and a single great sensor, like the IMX689 is/was but with all more recent improvement and experience since ~9 months it have been made, that do all Ultra-Wide to Wide/Standard to 10x+ magnification Telephoto all with a continuous zoom and with real Portrait and Macro mode, all the 5 main lens types found on smartphones that take advantage of the best of the best sensor, it would be cheaper and wouldn't take much more space than a many-sensor configuration.
In fact in my design, even the front camera use this sensor, and since the last prism is the OiS, as some (all ?) Periscope Telephoto do, they all have OIS, in fact the front camera have a continuous zoom from Ultra-Wide to Wide/Standard too, and it would work with punch hole, notch, pop up or bezel.

But yeah, the best camera without a good or excellent software won't be exceptional...

I know that the essential phone was the first with a notch, but I bet you that majority of androids would have flat bezels if iPhone X had flat bezels instead of a notch.

I thought it was such an overused and irrelevant argument that I didn't expect anyone to bring that up in 2020 and those people were all gone. Anyway, you implied in your previous comments that Oppo is STILL ripping off Apple's every single move (and that was your original point), which, judging from what they announced today, doesn't seem to be the case at all.

Care to clarify what you meant by "the original announcement"? Please don't tell me you're referring to the OG iPhone announcement back in 2007.

Also, no one ever really puts an OIS on their ultrawide, but oppo could have spent more time on the camera processing/software as the hardware clearly is ALOT better than the software. But, unfortunately for some, Carl pei left oneplus and Pete Lau is head of a European consortium of companies that combines oneplus, oppo and vivo, which may mean that firtute oppo flagships will benefit more from the oneplus's software optimisation teams
