DrakeX, 28 Dec 2020All I wanna know is, have they fixed their RAM management? Read the article again, this time... carefully.

Xiaomi is literally listening to its customers.
No wonder they were the only company whose shipments increased during the pandemic resulting in record profits.

That's why Samsung now gets away with running dozens of extra background processes compared to lighter skins.
They're still slower than everyone else but it's harder to pick up on.

When note 9 pro get 12.5 update

This is Chinese ROM so what's the point?
Global won't even have half the new features and changes lol

Even 6-7 months the global MIUI 12 hardly has half of the CN MIUI 12 announced features

KimbraMe, 28 Dec 2020If the RAM is more than 6GB, it is fine. If it's mess ... moreThe amount of RAM doesn't change how ridiculously aggressive the RAM management of Chinese Android skins including OxygenOS are. I'm not sure about 12 or even 16GB but 8GB can still reload apps. It's cumbersome having to go into the battery optimization settings to reduce the effect and even then it's still meh. I had a Redmi Note 4X 3/32 running on Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 Nougat and it kept my game from restarting which is still impressive even to this moment. Having to clear the apps doesn't really help battery life. It's frustrating when you're listening to music and suddenly it stops abruptly which happened a few times. This was on Mi 9T 6/64 on MIUI 10.3.6.

DrakeX, 28 Dec 2020All I wanna know is, have they fixed their RAM management? If the RAM is more than 6GB, it is fine. If it's mess than that, the phone will struggle big-time.

notafanboy, 28 Dec 2020Why blame Apple? blame people who buy their products...Blame Apple. The rich company gives people what it thinks they need. If am a billionaire, I won't care how much they charge for accessories coz I can afford them. What if am not? Blame the company for DELIBERATELY ripping off its clients! How do you blame a consumer? Who told Apple to stop shipping chargers? Who? You? If you're a billionaire, know that we all can't be. Why ship a phone without its proprietary charger and earphones? This is rude, to say the least!

Android still hogs on resources as ever and anything below 4GB RAM is downright unacceptable! Funny to have a 16GB phone and 8GB laptop? Not really. Android is just resource-intensive, and this ain't gonna change, unless we get a new Linux Kernel.

What can I compare it to? Nothing. Battery optimization has always been keen for me. I have been on tours in Sub-Saharan Africa and electricity is hard to come by. I appreciate MIUI even more due to battery optimization, maybe due to the larger 5K mAh battery. Otherwise, I miss the icons and options on EMUI to this day. Once you have that deep experience and no other option, you dig deeper and learn to appreciate. There's no going back. If HMS comes out right, I won't be going for the MI 10 Ultra after all, I'll be 'guns ready' for a Huawei phone. Some experiences are just hard to take away. Perhaps I'd have felt the same on another phone, so, this is why the comment is on my experience!

Have they changed their crappy DND that won't allow you to add exceptions per app basis? If not, then it's still a crappy OS.

I've never been a fun of budget devices, but why are they getting better? Food for thought. I love Huawei's and Oppo's skins better, but don't miss them since the Xiaomi iteration is way better. For example, which iPhone has that gorgeous security or storage animation? Don't judge before using, that makes the entire comment silly.
