Of course i didn't expect a different verdict. With Jury composed of people from apple's territory what do you expect! If patent includes design, that judge should travel the world and sue many other companies! The argument that people bought samsung devices thinking they were apple was silly to me. That actually demeans the consumer, how backward do i need to be to confuse the two. Unbelievable ruling coming from the greatest democracy of the free world.

Seoul: While Samsung Electronics is reeling from a patent pounding by its smartphone rival Apple Inc , this is unlikely to damage the other part of their relationship – where Samsung is the sole supplier of Apple-designed chips that power the iPhone and iPad.
“Apple needs Samsung to make the iPhone and iPad. Period. Samsung is the sole supplier of Apple’s processing chips and without Samsung, they can’t make these products,” said James Song, an analyst at KDB Daewoo Securities in Seoul. “Samsung might be considering lots of options to leverage its components business’ importance and pressure Apple, and Apple could be also well aware of this.”

without apple iphone, Samsung dont... moreholy shit you either know nothing about these things or you know very wrong, you wrote that samsung is doing what apple has done......everyone can say what ever they want if you look really look it's no problem to understand that apple has copied almost every thing. they come in in a market that bin existing for 20 years...look at the old samsung omnia could easily have the origin of the samsung galaxy design....apple say that every one is copying there icons if you look at the palm system from the 90's they are very similar and if you look at the swedish neonode from the early 20's you can see that the whole lay up of the menu system is almost identical to the fu* iphone so people please read up a bit before you claim stuff....and just to say that iv'e red that sgs2 was actually 20 dollars more expensive to make then the iphone 4s but still the iphone 4s at this time costed almost 200 dollars more in sweden......i'm so tired of people ho dont know jack shit opening there mouths and saying stupid things like everybody is copying apple when apple clearly has copied every little thing to even make a phone.......

All this patent war is nothing but a loss to the consumer. Can anyone come with a practical smartphone design other than the current ones we're seeing today? Personally I see it as being unfair all round. Maybe it would be best if the manufacturers concentrated on producing good quality phones at reasonable costs rather than having to add the court bills on the consumers.

The article is about Apple dominance and control of expanding technology, by doing so Apple is making products more expensive. Samsung no where is doing the same, whereas your argument is regarding different pricing in different countries.
Please read the facts before posting a weak argument. I neither a fan of Apple or Samsung, but what Apple is doing is WRONG.

Now that the great and all mighty "APPLE" has won the case against Samsung ( in the US ) not to mention. Now what you think would happen? As they planed, most Android lovers will be forced to use Apple's overly expensive, pay for everything, iTunes dependent, second 'IN THE WORLD' to Samsung and Android OS. There goes your freedom of choice America! A ban on Samsung is a slap in your face and the freedom to choose..... think about that.

Samsung or Apple http://blo... moreThe reason why samsung sells at higher price in india..is bcos of huge taxes which need to be paid in india for importing the smartphones or tablets. Most are them are brought from korea or china. 4500 Rs is the MFG cost of a Iphone 4S and they sell it for whomping 45000, Now Samsung S3 costs more than 10000Rs to Manufacuturer, mainly bcos of internal Memory, Quad processor and Super AMoled HD display. Inaddtion they have to bare the taxes from Indian Govt which will be around 3K to 4K per peice. so its like 15000 phone is sold at 34K (price slashed in one month for S3). but still Iphone is milking its indian customers with its dual core processor. for 45K. paying double the price seems ok for me..than paying 10X the Price ...Now tell me who is milking money from Indian cusotmers.

Its all business. Apple paid samsung to make chipsets. Samsung made billions. Samsung wants to reduce tax so asked apple to sue them, then apple get some money back but have to keep making chipsets with samsung....
