Apple's share last year 19% in mobile industry.
Samsung's share last year 17%.
Apple's share this year - 18%
Samsung's share this year - 33%
Do you see where this is going? Apple is surely got burn in the ass since their overpriced piece of shit is getting dominated by amazing Samsung devices which indeed worth the price.
Of course, we don't know what has gone behind the scene but its obvious Apple opted some unethical ways to get around this case.
If the Samsung gets defeated in higher courts, it'll be indeed the defeat of the people in US since they will not be left with other option than Apple.

In my part of the world, patent protection doesn't exist or is extremely watered down. Because of that, I get access as a consumer to the best of technology, I choose what's right for me and have no loyalties to any company. We the consumer dictates what company does well and they work hard to make their products better for us.
In the US, any rectangular phone with rounded corners is suspect now. Thats a patent? Heck..Motorola should've patented the mobile phone itself and collected hefty royalties from everyone who followed. Now tell me that wasn't (as the US patent office defines a patent) : Useful, New, Innovative or Original.
Yeah. The flat touchscreen rectangular phone with rounded corners? Very original. Bounce back? yeah very innovative. A 4x5 grid of icons? Wow. No one thought of that before. Pinch to zoom and tap to zoom are essential touchscreen gestures on any platform and should never have been patented, along with the rectangular shape baloney.
I think its better for all non-Apple companies to only make available watered down versions of their products in the US, circular dial mobile phones for example and concentrate on the rest of the world instead.
Oh wait, perhaps Bell Labs holds a patent on the rotary dial phone? Bummer.

Apple wins a case. Samsung loses some money. The Americans lose choice. While the rest of the world will continue to enjoy innovation and new technology, Americans will hold on to rectangles with rounded corners and whatever else their soon to be only Tech company Apple chooses to dish out. Not a loss for the rest of the world. American pay $200 for a phone contract for two years, no matter how advanced it is. Their choices just got narrower, not that it really matters to a consumer market too dumb (according to their jury) to differentiate between a Samsung and Apple product. Life goes on in America.

its fair, Apple beat Samsung in court so Samsung beats Apple in overpricing the gadget.
Or may be they are collecting money to pay.
Nexus 7 costs 1/4 th of this tab price and even the windows 8 RT surface is rumoured to be half its pricing both are great and capable products, its like Samsung don't want to sell it.
I don't like Apple but I admit the new iPad is far better deal than this note 800.
We Indians supports Samsung greatly in all its products and this is the reward.

Apple spent 5 years to developed the IOS and Samsung comes within a year and copied Apple staff! So what do you aspect Apple going to do? If any company has the same patent and other copy it they're going to do the same as Apple including Samsung.
