They will finally bring the 12" screen with this model. Nice! Looking forware to replace my 55" TV in the future with a K60-70 maybe.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2021Go to reddit and check comments about burn in. People say... moreWe find dead pixels on all type of screens and TV....high end low end...you name it.
That doesn't mean that the issue is widespread enough that one stops using led panels altogether.

Sure some cheaper Oled displays might give burn in and some high end ones get burn in. Only a few units suffer these issues. This isn't the norm for most users Otherwise tech reviewers would be complaining left and right about Oled burn in problem.

I bet you don't even understand how or why burn in happens.
You are just snooping and digging Internet forums for problems with with Oled.
The MrHonggggg trrrollll used to do the same and label all units of that particular device to be having that issue.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2021The loudest people who always talk about burn in or lots of... moreXiaomi's domestic market is a rare market where the demand for IPS LCD screen remains very high, even among buyers in the premium flagship segment. People are actually willing to pay a little more for a flagship with an IPS screen option vs its AMOLED siblings. One of the reasons those buyers start to tolerate an OLED screen is because they also prefer a curved screen and there is no curved option for IPS.

I wouldn't be so sure the top will be the K40 Pro, they may actually make a K40 Ultra too.
So far, informations about the K40 Pro tend toward it having a punch hole, and I highly doubt they will make no phone with a pop up as they had a massive success, plus the Ultra despite being a special model open doors for making a new model.
That plus the many variants of the K30 they had, I wouldn't be surprised if one or even two phones are above the K40 Pro this year.
Though I'm done expecting any smartphone brand to make good/sensitive decisions since a while now...

People saying their phones have it.
          After few weeks or months.
          Even on TV happen.
There is a difference between "nothing there" and "could not see".

Soon as microLed gets cheaper, oled tv will be history.
          Then mobile screens as well.

Tom, 11 Jan 2021what about a K40 mini will it be part of the series? c.q. t... moreThere will not be a mini version for any of the Xiaomi (Redmi) smartphones, since there is no real market demand based on real market research. On the other hand, the possibility for a IPS LCD variant, or a midrange with a curved screen is way larger, as per market demand.

Redmi was thinking about a curved screen option for one of the K40 variants. A K40Pro with a curved AMOLED will likely undercut the sale of higher-end Xiaomi smartphones, since a curved (or micro-curved) AMOLED screen is considered one of the significant demarcation lines separating a real flagship from a would-be flagship, especially among female buyers.

So basically a panel without punch holes or cut outs.

I doubt they will ditch AMOLEDoor use mini Led for K40 pro.

They already have some of the best midrange phones with 700series and high refresh rate lcds.
K40 is probably isn't targetted at people who throw 1k+ usd on phones.
