I hope this is in the super mid range and not in the budget range. something on par with the Sony xperia 5 ii. A 5.5" screen is a good workable size for a compact these days. I have more of a problem with the weight of phones than the actual size. i hate heavy phones anything over 180g i will not buy.

- 10 mark iii is 2,5mm smaller than mark ii.
- benchmarks point to 6GB. Also even mark ii already has 128GB
- with 5G, it needs more battery than mark ii , I think 4000 mAh is very possible
- I doubt HDR, screen is already 120Hz locked at 60Hz like XA1/XA2/10/10ii.

If SONY sells this under $250 and makes it globally available then I will definitely get one.

if xperia 10 iii manges to pull off:
90hz screen at 1080p resolution with hdr oled
along side 4000 mah battery and dual front firing stereo speakers (that are actually loud and bassy and accurate!)
along side 5g sd690, 6gb ram, and Expandable storage
along side dual sim (not hybrid) or one esim
in a compact form factor like 10ii
happy to pay upto 450 dollars for it. would prefer it anyday over Samsung m51 or A51 or nord or pixel4a
don't care much about the camera pixels and zoom count etc, even if they ship it with one good camera with average daylight and nightime performance with OIS, id be fine.
Audio, Screen, battery and form factor is something where i can't compromise.... That's why sony remains a favourite after all these years

If even $350 Xperia 10ii has oled , triple cam and no notch, obviously Sony is not gonna use dual cam , notched LCD on a $750 phone.
If it was flagship, it would have no notch, front speaker, cam button below google button, metal frame and cam bump.

The rumor of only 5G phones has been months, even before Xperia 5ii was announced.
This is why 10 Plus mark II was canceled. It was going to use SD720.

At 5.5" it's probably a similar size to iPhone 12, not the mini. If it will carry the usual high price of the XZ-series, it will likely fail hard. And then the "analysts" will conclude that the sales failure was due to its small screen, not because it's an overpriced entry-level phone.
As a Pixel user, I would say the iPhone 12 looks like a good deal compared to the barely-potent Pixel 5. 2020 gave us so many gifts...

Just a tip: if to you 120Hz is important, do not turn on Stamina. It drops to 30Hz.

At least ugly notch can be hidden while using apps.
Sony is not gonna put pop up cam on a low profit phone.
L series should not even exist.
Sony should do only phones above $800.
