Even if Sony had a 5,2" 21:9 version of 5ii and price $750. It would still sell way less than 5ii and 1ii. Reason they no longer make small phones.
Iphone 12 Mini is a huge failure as seller compared to its big siblings.
No android phone with same size would sell more than 40.000 units.

bit too late, I already got the 12 mini and love it. Otherwise this phone looks... low range? It looks like a shortened version of the L4, between the notch, thick frame and bottom chin not housing a front firing speaker. It's also the same width as the Xperia 10 and 5 II, just shorter, making it not so compact.

SD 7XX series, with a decent camera and battery would be a dream come true. Not everyone is a fan of huge screens.

Tracke, 25 Jan 2021this phone will still sell as not everyone needs big phonesProblem isnt about big phones. Problem is that it has large bezel on the bottom and then teardrop notch. Just have this bottom large bezel at top that will have all the sensors and the selfie camera and no bezel at bottom. Never mind that the bezel makes the phone bigger too so it wont be so much of a compact even with the 5.5 inch screen.
I want a compact phone but i want larger screen too. So if i see a lot of bezel then i dont want this phone. Especially from high price brands

It very likely is entry level. I remember hearing Sony only featuring tear-drop notches in their entry level devices.
But still, the design is elegant and the size is awesome. If they introduced a compact midranger with 3 years of updates I would have gotten it

Affordable. Compact. 3.5mm jack. Count me in! Hope it's not too affordable (entry level) and seems it's on the thicker side. Which means beefier battery. Hopefully happy times. And hopefully to be available in many markets.

Should have been a hole punch and a SD 600. Dual cameras itself isn't a problem, but most phones with dual cameras don't impress in the camera department.
