    Dxomark don't use specials modes on the reviews its explain all, don't use apple pro raw or dobly vision, a lot of smartphones are scoring much less point because the only thing if her analzy is the AUTO mode, the Sony 1 mk2 is made for photo enthusiasts have the PHOTO PRO app for this

              Xperia: Bad camera + Overpriced.

                I never fully trust DxOMark because of how bias they are, but I do read a real-world camera comparison between the Sony Xperia 1 ii and the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL*. To be honest? It doesn't win me enough to be a replacement for my Lumia 950 XL. Even though the Sony did produce a somewhat better zoom shot that the Lumia thanks to its native 3x zoom telephoto camera, it's still not there yet.

                        they are best senor makers in the world. but they aren't using best camera sensors for own phones products

Also the pro app does not take photos vertically which is the most used mode for the average user in social media. People started to bash dxo because other brands caught up and surpassed their favorite brands. They have been consistent with their criterias which favors versatility and post processing (hence why the pixel used to top the charts when it came out, but has been surpassed by hardware + software).

                            No surprise there. The ultrawide on 1/5 II is awesome, the other lenses are not.

                              This is bu#$hit!

                              I know how lame Xperia is but c'mon saying it is comparable to 2 year old flagship when the phone is already almost a year old (8 months old in the market to be exact but just a few more days for a year from announcement).

                                What a load of garbage, I presume they didn't bother reviewing the Camera Pro App and just concentrated on the standard app, or they are just totally bias.
                                The Sony Xperia 1 II Camera Pro App gives the most natural looking photo possible- artificial colour and added brightness doesn't mean a Samsung or other phone has a better camera.
                                This review is just nonsense.

                                  [deleted post]lol, whatever you shoo video 4K and 8K is not the same even just for fun. Its 8mp vs 32mp. The only 8K camera from sony is above 6000euro and cameras with comparable resolution at 2000. It may not be pro grade but for ordinary user is having both those features at 600euro way better than the camera they cannot afford.
                                  I actually do not record much of video, but being able to also use 1 frame from that video is comparable to shooting stills on hi res 24fps. Actually video got better processed complex details than stills looking at image comparison.

                                    I wouldn't trust just one source but judging by Sony's track record, I also wouldn't be surprised if this was true.

                                      Sony Smartphones didn't have the best image quality. I recently bought a XZ1 Compact but have to admit that the image quality compared to my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (midrange device released in the same year) isn't that great. Their medicore Image quality and small mAh batteries were the main reason I never bought a new Xperia when released. Overpriced for my taste.

                                        Have read few comments here,and as usual so much hatred towards DXo, even guys here at GSMA concluded that this Xperia is (almost) strictly designed to be purchased by hardcore Sony Ultras...there are (much) better smartphone cameras out there,and all of them are using bigger,more advanced and more expensive sensores,better lenses too...maybe that's what makes a difference,not just mean looking camera App(s)....
