ksuuk, 29 Jan 2021This is also more battery friendly and much more reliable option.I so agree with you. While I'm cool with fingerprint unlocking, the physical scanner is way more reliable than the in-display reader.

Put a periscope capera in the next Xperia 2... then i'll probably buy it if jack and expandable memory are still there.

Tann Hauser, 29 Jan 2021Very few trust DxoMark today. They test only camera trends... moreI agree that DxOMark scores aren't to be trusted but their review of the 1 II matches with my experience. It has 20 FPS AF/AE but the general focusing is much less reliable than other phones. Indoor HDR is either non-existent or of very poor quality (grey haze or messed up colours). Generally, the IQ is lower than other flagship phones.

AnonD-863866, 29 Jan 2021Display Refresh Rate?Definitely 60Hz since no Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset to this date can support higher screen refresh rate at 4K resolution. But if Sony offers customizable resolution and screen refresh rate, that could be a different story altogether.

vrvly, 29 Jan 2021No bezel is the best bezel.I'd rather take bezel instead of a notch or punch hole. Of course Sony can consider doing a pop-up or rotating mechanism, but that might sacrifice the IP65/68 rating certification since there is a moving part. It's not like Sony's IP65/68 rating is ineffective, I remembered borrowing my friend's Xperia XZ1 during camping some two years ago and tried to do underwater recording while swimming on the sea, and it all works beautifully well.

zimilaci84, 29 Jan 202121:9 is amazing :)People don't know what they're missing with this phone. I have been doing zoom calls simultaneously with my Emails open split with a word document 50/50. 3.5mm earphone plug means I can do 3hr+ seminars or meetings without worrying about embarrassing disconnections or battery issues.
It is a hand held productivity monster.

[deleted post]Very few trust DxoMark today.
They test only camera trends, not factual capabilities.
And OEM marketing unfortunately became their main source of income.
If they tested, for ex, sensors AF/AE feat capabilities Xperia 1 II would have 20 pts more than they gave it.
But they test only trendy feat stuff like zoom now, so if no periscope on phone, it gets 20 pts less.
Also their autoHDR testing is a joke, they dont value algoriths quality, but just the most excessive amount of it used.
That is not photography.
Newest iphones autoHDR for ex, turns most daylight photos into an unrealistic overprocessed photography joke...but it gets the extra points for those too excessive saturations, contrasts, sharpenings...
Its a shame what DxoMark became to be.

I bought the first Xperia 1 and still loving it. MK iii with upgraded camera, fingerprint sensor and headphone jack is good for me but will cost a bomb.
