I wanted to buy the iPhone 12 this year but I didn't because it was too wide. I stayed with my pixel 3. I wanted the Xperia 5ii because I thought it would have the same design as 1 but it didn't so I'm waiting this year to change my phone.

This might just be my android phone to compliment my iPhone for the next couple of years. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more about this one. Good job Sony for not following the dumbest trends (and yes I know Apple leads with some of the dumb trends, but I like them as a reliable phone, while I use and Android phone for everything else)

I am impressed how ignorant ppl can be in 2021.
People that have zero interest in Xperia Pro and would never buy it even if it had price below $1000 complain about the fact it does not have SD888.
Nobody changes components during the development, they have worked on this device since 2019. People simply assume you just open a phone, take cpu out and insert the new one and voilà !!!!

You've been sold a lie, notches, water drops and punch holes all steal display area, bezels simply do not.
Yes the phone can be made smaller but they've been getting bigger anyway - an S21 Ultra is now bigger overall than the Xperia 1 ii while having a stupid hole in the middle of the display.

Since 2016, all Xperia FHD, QHD and 4K are 120Hz.
You just are not allowed to use, unless you have 5ii.
They would not give 120 to the $950, if the $1200 did not have as well.

From my knowledge
1.side mounted fingerprint is better than in display fingerprint.
Bcoz most of our thumb goes at that place automatically to hold the device.
2. 3.5mm Jack is present it's an great option for nowadays flagship.
3. Can hold nd handle large display of 6.5 inches in a single hand.
4. Micro SD slot is present Bcoz competitor s21 doesn't have.
5. Flat edge most of them likes this design.
7. Have periscope camera
6. Not Chinese shit. It's Japanese tech giant.
Most of the requirements fulfilled
Of it is priced 1100 euro the only cons is available in stores
Make it soon on available in stores SONY.
SONY MOBILE is now in a great path.

YUKI93, 29 Jan 2021I'd rather take bezel instead of a notch or punch hole... moreI used to ate ugly notch, but once used you can understand that you can use it just for time etc. and black it out so its like useful smart bezel.
With holes its better, though hole takes some space, its way less than bezel, in the end you loose screen space for whatever it is pictures or text.
I wouldn't worry so much about bezels though, sony lag also in screen size, 7" 21:9 is what I would expect, so no matter with bezel or not, with small screen its not the size for my type of usage.

It's an always on dedicated sensor so it's fast and reliable (already better than UD). It's in a position you can access no matter what orientation the phone is in. It's in a spot where you hand naturally rests when you pick up the phone. It is by far the best location in my opinion. I've moved on from Sony phones, but UD sensors are over priced trash. I'll be happy to use them again once they are equally as fast and equally as reliable as dedicated sensors. At the moment, it's literally paying more for worse functionality.
