IpsDisplay, 08 Feb 2021It is pointless for that application A phone with 630k s... moreIt means you will never feel a 2020 phone is faster than 2018 phone.
That is the point.

Twice the antutu score , you can open any app 0,01s faster. Wow !!!!

Arbiter, 08 Feb 2021Please conduct a battery comparison between these 2 models.... moreTrue. Samsung should consider optimization of the battery life rather than performance.

mehtasameer2087, 08 Feb 2021Will be more junk, amd is never known to be a cooler system ... moreI have a IdeaPad 15 Ryzen 7 4800U laptop. It's very good.
I also have a desktop with RX 580 8GB ... not as good as Nvidia. But it's OK for my games.

I am not going to judge it now. I will wait ...

Shiny Dave, 08 Feb 2021Maybe that power efficiency advantage really comes through ... moreTBH if benchmarks are you go to when using a smartphone I can a reason to switch, but other than that ... switching for faster SOC?
        Why?

In this case it is interesting to know how much worse the Exynos version is.

Would you do a photo/video test comparation between the two models? Different hardware will provide different results. Everybody is curious how the two devices are performing in this category!

In normal use it does not matter really. You can spend all your day doing these tests. Just use the phone

"The Snapdragon 888 has an ever slightly-better overall battery endurance" - gives like as reference which actually says the opposite.

"with the Snapdragon 888 coming up on top more often than not" - 3 ties, 4 wins for Exynos, 3 for 888. How is that "on top"?

                9000 > 2100 + 888 ... simple math really.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2021Phone with cpu A scores 630.000. Phone with cpu B scores ... moreNot feeling a difference in real world use is not a fault of the benchmark itself

You can blame the maturity/development of applications itself for that antutu tries to emulate peak performance and no surprise that most people don't use phones at peak performance, cpu and gpu growth moves much faster

Lol people even purchase $1200 apple smartphones just to play candy crush and go on instagram ...

Incomplete test to come up to such conclusion.
Temperature wasn't checked, and tests were probably repeatedly conducted in just under 10 minutes.
They may be very close to each other, but the Exynos could already be giving out its best while the Snapdragon is holding back somehow.

What version are they selling in Korea? Their home country

abigfanoftechs, 08 Feb 2021Exynos + AMD GPU ... I can't wait. Will be more junk, amd is never known to be a cooler system and they don't have any experience with mobile phone platforms,if you have seen the pcs or other machines with amd chipsets they have major external cooling systems attached so it's not going to be a miracle for samsung

                          https://www.anandtech.com/show/16463/snapdragon-888-vs-exynos-2100-galaxy-s21-ultra/5
Samsung has fkd up sd chipset and this proves it,they may have upgrade to their junk 990 in 2100 but still it is not upto the mark and more over the fabrication process is not exactly efficient,so the tAke here is if samsung cant beat sd then they have made it worse of what actually it should be,I am dead sure the 870 on tsmc will perform better than samsung 5nm node

When I see sd version on samsung device then will buy, exynos is definitely not on pair with sd, throttling with extended period of use, higher temperature, and picture quality is not the same white balance is more yellowish and level of details is less. However they still ask the same price so no buy.

A phone with 630k should be compared to another around the same 600k mark

Not feeling a difference in real world use is not a fault of the benchmark itself you can blame that on the maturity of the technology itself

More specifically on the speed of development for more demanding applications etc, cpu and gpu are getting better yearly but how games are coded aren't moving at the same speed

                                Exynos + AMD GPU ... I can't wait.

Either way, I'm not convinced by this generation of Android flagship SoCs. Feel like a last-gen flagship is going to be my likeliest upgrade path from my A70 come upgrade time this November, and I genuinely can't rule out a cross-OS switch to Apple at this point. As I'm in an Exynos market where Asus phones are hardly ever available, I'm basically between an S20 FE 5G or a China phone if I'm wanting to stay with Android, and don't want to risk the geopolitical vulnerability of the latter.

Performance is very high on both CPUs and the differences are very small. So the main point is: what about the battery consumption?
