Alleged Oppo Find X3 prices for Europe leak, the X3 Pro model expected to start at €1,000

There will be three models in the series: Oppo Find X3 Pro, X3 Neo and X3 Lite. The last two may be re-branded phones from the Reno5 series.

They still sell more than the other ( considering only phones above $700).

If phones like X2 Pro, 8 Pro, 10 Ultra and 1ii were sold for $600, they would still not sell half of S20 series.

In fact, I doubt those 4 devices combined for 4 million units during whole 2020.
While the extremely overpriced 12 Pro Max (it is way above $1700 outside USA), sold between september-december 16,8 million units.

In the end, these brands would just lose money selling cheaper.

How could oppo sell X2 Pro for lower price than 12 Pro when it is better at everything except video recording and sound?

Current price of iphone 12 mini 64GB in my location (Apple website) = $1270

OnePlus is more popular now than when they sold crap phones like 3 and 5 series.
7 and 8 series sell more, are better and bring more money.

      2; companies definitely do set prices based on competition, it's often used as a main selling point that they are undercutting others

          No company chooses price based on the price of competition.
          Thoughts like this is reason Apple feels "allowed" to charge 20-30% more than other for inferior products.
