JayrBars, 25 Feb 2021Coming from mi9t pro and poco f2pro, my only hope is they i... moreI don't get what you mean by "fp cam"
Front pop up? Portrait ?
I missed the windows to buy the Poco F2 Pro, now it is more expensive and it is already one year old, which probably mean I will miss maybe one year of update if I try to keep it for, lets say, 5 years.
OIS is great indeed, in fact that's why I love single sensor solution that allow to do all Ultra-Wide, Wide, Telephoto, Portrait and Macro as we can put a great sensor but also a great OIS, even a gimbal, or even better both a gimbal for frame tracking and OIS for smoothing, as the Vivo X50 Pro proved that gimbal alone isn't enough (which is logic as gimbal is better for large movement rather than small fast ones).
In fact, considering that some "not too expensive phones" like the OnePlus Nord, or the Xiaomi Mi 10 Young both have OIS, it is a shame a phone like the Poco F2 Pro don't have it as it doesn't seem to add up too much to the cost.
Combining the Macro with the Telephoto (not the Ultra-Wide) would allow you to do the exact same shots, and using maximum magnification it would allow to either take the same shot from further (quite handy on living subjects) or even closer shots meaning more details, all while also allowing real Portrait (not the fake Bokeh) and naturally Telephoto too, it is a win win win situation.
And I like how you say you prefer wireless and don't care if it doesn't have the Jack, so great from you to not say stuff like "I don't use/like/want it and it should be removed"!
Currently having a OnePlus 6t, going from a 3700mAh to a 4700mAh would already be a great improvement, but the 300 additional milliamps per hour would probably be quite noticeable, and while I really want to switch for a better phone, I really want to take a great one that I can take good pics with and enjoy to keep it as long as possible.
The average user generally keep his phone for 2 to 3 years, and I bought my OnePlus 6t in January 2019, but if I liked it more (I came to hate notch and the lack of Jack was a problem multiple times for me, there were also few occasions I could have used the IR blaster which is the kind of thing you don't want until you need it), I would keep it until it is not usable anymore.
And it isn't as if all the changes I listed would affect you negatively in any ways though.
That's why having "too much" features, as long as it doesn't add to much to the cost, is great, as not everyone have the same taste, but for most features, not using them isn't an issue, so having more allow much more people to be able to find their favorite feature combo in a device.

Android--Master, 25 Feb 2021Mid range cameras? It's a flagship sensor paired with ... moreThe Hm2 is way inferior to the hmx on the mi10, mi10tpro and mi11 and is a downgraded version of the HM1 (exact same tech but smaller sensor and smaller pixels). This flagship is coming with more or less the same camera set-up as the Redmi note 9 pro 5g which is a midranger and doesn't even add OIS. 8mp ultrawide and useless macro. Of course the Hm2 will be better with the improved chip. The rest of the specs great but camera is the weak point relative to other phones at similar price points. I've ordered the regular k40pro but the camera is a disappointment on that two as it's downgraded from the k30pro (worse ultrawide).

Okay, so Xiaomi lied about using "the most expensive flat-screen display on a smartphone". I mean, QHD was already a stretch at this price point, but that's what they needed to live up to their claims.

I can live without fp cam and telephoto, and im enjoying my telemacro with the poco f2pro. Its not the greatest but its good enough for me.
With regards to 3.5mm jack, im fine without it. Market has a lot of bluetooth headphones, earbuds, etc. I actually have both. The cheap ones from xiaomi and mpow and jbl. They already sound great to me so not complaining.
But because my current phones are still fairly new (poco f2pro and sammy a71) im gonna pass this year but definitely im getting 1 phone from xiaomi (flagship) or redmi (flagship) and another from sammy's midrangers next year. Probably the k50 and A7x series or whatever they might call their successors.

This HM2 Sensor in Redmi note 9 pro 5g was getting the better of HM1 inside Note 20 ultra in many challenging scenarios.

If you are coming to this conclusion from the MI 11 review, then understand that particular device is a loner with this upscaling problem.
Third party apps can still crop it upto 3x lossless zoom on Mi 11. Should not be a problem here either.

Pity they went with such midrange cameras on all the models. Expected more from the cameras which are downgraded from the k30 series. The top model last year had OIS on the main imx686 and on the 3x telephoto and also had a 13mp ultrawide. They always have to cut costs somewhere though on these budget low end flagships to keep prices down.
