Sony is/whose last OEM at least letting you disappear when you want with regular firmware by enabling ultra stamina mode basically reducing functionality to basic phone (future phone). Even Chinese MIUI is a step up in getting rid off Google's spying.

The V60 has carrier-specific radios that can not roam. Maybe that would have been OK if people had known that travel would be prohibited for up to 2 years, but it looked like a really bad deal when it came out. Even LG's own mid-range phones can roam.

LG is also working hard to make a name for themselves as a company that makes not-quite-right electronics with no support. A few minor changes here and there would make them far better than Samsung but they just don't care enough to do it.

There are atleast few chunk of people gonna miss LG, if they quit. I am one among them..😔

It's the way LG Mobile loses money that's so impressive, how they manage it is a total mystery to me.

LG has ceased to be relevant for many years, just like HTC (has it sold any phones in 2020?), SONY (has it sold more than 2 millions in 2020?), and ASUS (sold less than 1 millions in 2020). If LG exits the market, most users will not know and will not care.

They were up there (the same like HTC) and they didn't know how to generate their success. They took everything for granted and thought that making 1-2 years of good smartphones, will automatically make people buy them continuously.
Other companies adapted to the market trends, they didn't.
The same case scenario it's with Sony. I think the only advantage of Sony is that it has more money to pour into the mobile division. LG and HTC weren't so lucky.
                          RIP LG.

[deleted post]If we are talking privacy issues (from people hating China products), all companies take your data. Maybe Apple to be more safe on this regard, because they are "unique". But, does anybody really know what they are doing behind closed doors? They say they are 100% safe, but, let's be honest nobody is safe on the internet.
So, imo, if you have a google account (which everybody owning an Android phone has), your data is already collected, no matter if you have a Sony, LG, Xiaomi, Realme phone.
The only way to be 100% safe is to buy a classic phone, delete all your accounts and apps and move to some remote forest/mountain house. Lol.
