Anonymous, 22 Mar 2021Whos stoping you to buy similar priced A32 5G ?Nothing at all. I'm just not finding a legitimate reason to mothball my old F1 yet.
Once it fails, or isn't able to do something I need it to do, I'll hand it over to a friend and grab whatever I find to be its spiritual successor at that time I suppose.
But for now it still kicks most midrangers to the curb - including the X3 NFC.
I'm happy with it, so why upgrade?

I am now conflicted... Poco X3 Pro can be perfectly a secondary phone.
But the F3 is pretty nice too!
Still, I have the Poco F2 Pro.

Camera, plastic body, and a few other things also.
These phones also have those same compromises. So, where is our 888 is my question?
These chipsets are not lacking for speed, but as stated, they don't both support WIFI6, BT 5.2, 5G better ISP and other things that we miss out on by getting an overclocked chipset from yesteryear.
That said, I actually wouldn't count out the old camera sensor out of hand just yet. We still have to see what magic more advanced (if not flagship grade) image processing may accomplish - even with an older sensor.
It may yet surprise us - a bit.

Ellen Dale, 22 Mar 2021We'll talking about the camera Yes it has a dated sen... moreThat's the hope really. The difficulty is whether to gamble on that happening and buy at the early bird price. If you look at the Redmi note 10 pro, for example, I bought it for 204 euros at launch and cancelled because I heard that these phones were coming. You can't buy it for less than 280 euros now. I fear this will happen with these poco models as well. The price now is very appealing. I'm not a massive photography guy but I take a few and I'll want them to be of a certain quality.

We'll talking about the camera
Yes it has a dated sensor
Considerable time behind the present sensors
But the capable processor and the developers will surely come up with a gcam mod

I think that the person you responded to has a point though. We need to set expectations accordingly really. If samsung and apple are charging close to 1000 or more for the flagship phones, it's not going to really be possible to replicate that for 300. Some corners have to be cut. The major issue I have is that with these phones, they have cut back so much on camera tech. The sensor is an imx582. That's so dated. The CPU are basically flagship topping out at around 3ghz clock speeds.

Re: X3.
This X3 Pro and the original X3 NFC could have both been launched on the same day theoretically, from a marketing perspective.
Then it's up to you if you are more of a power user that wants the stronger chipset, or more of a photography person that would prefer the money went towards the better camera sensor.
Otherwise I don't see one as being much superior to the other. It's just down to a personal prefernce I think.
Both X3's are just 2 different flavors of essentially the same phone.

5g is currently more irrelevant than ever. There's a lockdown. People are indoors. Stuck on WiFi. A normalization of social behavior may change this but even so WiFi is almost everywhere now. I live in Ireland and a lot of people on here will be from the UK. Our weather means we are primarily an indoor people. We socialize mostly indoors and work mostly indoors because of our weather. WiFi is our most common method of accessing the web. 5G is probably more relevant in Australia or America and perhaps out in the sticks sometimes where a WiFi structure is unfeasible bua 5g cell tower more feasible. Mobile data is important but it's rarely the primary consideration for most people buying phones. Not saying that it's always the case. Some people are very reliant on it of course.

hmm, 22 Mar 2021I have 5G around but still i dont care about it. It's ... moreI think you are mistaken my friend.
The first phone with a Snapdragon 855 was the Mi 9 which came out in February 2019.
That's over 6 months after the launch of my trusty Pocophone F1 in August 2018 (all info according to Google. My memory isn't that sharp obviously).
Also, the chipset is about more than just clock speed of course. Each new iteration brings better graphics, better image processing, dedicated AI processing, upgraded Wifi support - and 5G (obviously), more advanced Bluetooth and faster charging - to name a few...
So yes, why no true $300 flagship? I stand by my original comment. We are still moving in the wrong direction in terms of value for money.
