Buko Balamata, 27 Mar 2021They still have no contacts and phone app with disabled cal... moreThat is something mandated by Google for all phones using Google Mobile Services. The OEMs have to obey if they want to sell their phones globally.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2021That's absolutely true, the ads campaign is the only d... moreYou just make yourself sound so clueless and I am trying really hard not to call you a d**b**s. How in the world ads that can be disabled make the phone isn't yours? At this point, I think haters like you should grow some braincells before commenting.

I don't know like my nickname is saying but no one can deny that Xiaomi make very good devices for the price like the Poco f2 pro is exceptionally good for just a little over 400€ but what do I know

Anonymous, 26 Mar 2021Hope not. And I hope they will remove Call and Messages app... moreThey still have no contacts and phone app with disabled call recording and auto redial functions. If we get official phone app by Xiaomi in EU, it will be useless again.

[deleted post]If you prefer to pay less then you obviously deserve worse overall user experience. You might have to deal with worse build quality, a screen that doesn't go sufficiently bright while using it outdoor, slower SoC, less features in UI and of course you will almost certainly get crappy speakers and cameras.. the list goes on. Other phone manufacturers cut corners in mostly hardware specs to save cost, whereas Xiaomi include ads in the software to compensate for low profit margin per unit.
Now, if they started taking measures to prevent users from disabling them or including system ads in their high end models as well, that would obviously become a huge deal and I wouldn't hesitate criticising the company when that happened. But so far ads can be disabled even on the cheapest Xiaomi phones you can buy, so I don't consider to be a too much of a problem as of now.
Sorry if I sound like a "snob" to you, but you will get what you have paid for.

Muthah, 27 Mar 2021I'm sick of Xiaomi doing away with SD card slots even ... moreMost flagship nowadays dont have SD slots. And considering Xiaomi very competitive price, i would not even complain about those external SD. The build in is more than enough unless you are lazy.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2021Finding a possible fix or workaround to a problem does not ... moreIt's not a problem in the first place. This isn't some bug that needs fixing.
Just turning off ads like turning off GPS or WiFi.
Just admit that you didn't know about these settings and you haven't used a Xiaomi phone from 2020.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2021Finding a possible fix or workaround to a problem does not ... moreSamsung flagship in 2020 shipped with qhd*60hz by default.
Just because they didn't come out of the box with 1080p*120hz, does that mean you can't go into settings and activate high refresh mode??

Norwegian Gangster , 27 Mar 2021Instead of writing all that maybe learn that all ads can be... moreFinding a possible fix or workaround to a problem does not mean the problem doesn't exists. Claiming there is a fix means you intact admit the problem does exist.

Nick Tegrataker, 27 Mar 2021Let me guess, 6000mAh capacity for the equally sized batter... moreUnfortunately that's the way most companies will use it. Or with so slightly larger capacity and much thinner.
9-10mm phones at this point could house so much more technology and be unnoticed by most.
But hey.... it's thinner....

Good to read about innovation in batteries. Of course, how good it'd be remains to be seen. But battery tech has stayed stagnant for an age. So a relief to read about actual innovation rather than the amount of 2mp cameras and 100w charging speeds.

We are way overdue for a change in battery technology in phones. The Mi 10 Ultra had a graphene enhanced battery and I can't wait for other companies to actually put better batteries in it's devices as well

[deleted post]That's absolutely true, the ads campaign is the only disgusting thing from the company so far... The ads makes you feel like not owning the device and feel like a sheep.

Muthah, 27 Mar 2021I'm sick of Xiaomi doing away with SD card slots even ... moreWith all my respect, no one cares... I wouldn't add an sd option either so people can't bottleneck my phone's UFS 3.1 with their moms class 4 sd cards and then blame the phone.
