Xiaomi to introduce revolutionary battery for Mi 11 Ultra and all-new in-house chip on March 29

26 March 2021
The power cell will be silicon-oxygen, while the chip is likely an ISP for the liquid lens.

Let me guess, 6000mAh capacity for the equally sized battery cell?
Hopefully they won't just make it thinner and keep the capacity the same, that would be such a wasted opportunity on a huge phone like Mi 11 Ultra.

    10 times capacity?
That mean it will have 40.000mah?

I'm sick of Xiaomi doing away with SD card slots even mid-range , let alone flagships. As long as they pull this crap I won't buy them. I've switched to a different brand for my last 2 flagships. Everybody's doing it is not a valid response.

[deleted post]You pay the lower price, you'll need to find a toggle to disable ads by yourself. If you pay more and purchase their higher end products then you won't see system ads in the first place. While it's definitely an annoyance, I just don't see this as a huge issue as some people are trying to make it out to be.

My Mi 10t pro has no ads, well not by default, but you have to turn them off in settings menu and in some apps like security and themes (even a non EU variant will have no ads if you do these tweaks)
Stop blaming Xiaomi for a problem that doesn't exist.

The real reason why I prefer Xiaomi over other brands is simply because there's a huge community working on custom roms. The value it offers, simply put other brands cannot match it. There's a little bit of hassle to flash a custom rom, but it's worth it cuz the bloatware's gone, it's ad-free and then there's a performance upgrade with a good battery life given the app rom we choose. Yeah, it's difficult to get it right but still the value it offers is unmatchable. The only issue I feel is should I trust a custom ROM, given the fact it's maintained by developers but it's open source, if it had some malware code, one of the fellow devs would point it, meaning custom roms are safe

I am reading many reviews and big part if them talk about the ads, but for the time I am using their devices (3 different phones), I haven't encountered this problem. And, honestly, I am looking forward to seeing the Mi 11 Pro/Ultra because I am pretty sure they will offer a better value for money compered to Samsung/Apple. Xiaomi has one real competitor, at least according to last year's devives, and that's OnePlus. OnePlus is more focused on display while Xiaomi on cameras. Although this is about to change in 2021 since Mi 11 Pro/Ultra are expected to have 120 Hz displays.

The only thing I hate about Xiaomi is bloatware system ads & deliberately pushing bug updates into older phones. No matter how good their product, the trust is gone can't simply go back to the back experience. Trust broken is really hard to mend.

I tried Xiaomi and their apps are kinda horrible. The phone is great quality and the best bang for bucks, but the software is gore-ish. If Xiaomi wants to enter a larger segment in the EU (like Huawei used to have) they really need to scale back their adds inside apps and even when installing apps from the google pay. Having pure android one would solve the two problems westerners have with their brand. First it would create trust since the main software would be pure google without any spyware and the add free apps would give it a certain premium feel, like Huawei.

They can keep the adds for cheaper phones in developing countries, but people would still gladly pay that extra 50-100eur for an add-less phone.

Who actually wants a paper thin phone, what they should focus on is longevity of the battery not fast charging. Another good idea would to make their products more eco friendly, for example providing more updates and making the battery last longer. But nearly every phone manufacturer is heading the opposite direction. Who cares if it's under 20w charging, every phone I've ever had the battery is the first thing to go, naturally. The funny thing is it's often a better deal to get a new phone than replace a battery and that is just sad.

If they do, Xiaomi will continue selling it. Xiaomi still needs profit to live, the fact that they stop a series is either it doesn't sell well enough or its market is merged with another series. Since Mi A series has a distinct market, the former is the only possible reason. That market, to Xiaomi, is the same as those wanting smaller phones. Niche market, too small population to generate enough profit to live.
