T... moreIf you use an optical zoom or shoot photos in complex angles a lot then RX100M7 (The particular model that Xiaomi used in their presentation) is better suited for the jobs than any smartphones out there. If medium to extreme low light photography is your thing, however, you should definitely stay away from it - Dim F2.8 aperture lens and very basic JPEG post processing means details will quickly turn into a noisy mush as the light goes down.

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2021The iphone se is a budget phone and DOES NOT COMPETE WITH T... moreYou seem to forget that the VAST majority of buyers are casuals, for them any model of the same brand compete with the other, they have the choice between an iPhone and an iPhone, many will take the cheapest.
It still has the same chipset as the iPhone 11 Pro Max, and it is way more than enough for basically all regular users and most tech enthusiasts, even as a tech enthusiast I've never seen the power limit of my OnePlus 6t's Snapdragon 845, so having a Snapdragon 870 or 888 would be totally unnecessary for me and the only reason I would pick one would be for having a device that still run smoothly after 5 years and gave me the latest standard (Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, etc).
Most casuals users don't even know what is an Ultra-Wide, and for those who know it, many simply don't need it, and the quality is already more than enough for the use of many of those taking regular Instagram pics anyway.
And with a stupid 7.3mm thickness, of course you get short battery life, still the SE show great sale numbers.
Except that the Galaxy S21 is still a small phone with his 6.2" in a world where most high end are not smaller than 6.7", so does the 6.1" of the regular iPhone 12 and the Pro.
The size difference with a 6.7" device such as the iPhone 12 Pro Max is still quite noticeable :

Because that's how demand and supply work, you make enough product to sell them initially then you adjust to the demand, the fact the production is still going prove it is a success.
There are Smartphone brands that exist with a yearly sales of all models being lesser than 1% of what the iPhone 12 Mini did in a month.
A crazy number of people want small devices, and yeah, it is a no brainer that small phones have small display, many aren't put off by that, and the battery part is easy to fix by making the phone thicker, in an ergonomic standpoint, the smaller something is, the thicker you want it to be anyway, that's why TV remotes aren't as thin as smartphones despite having much simpler stuff inside.

beep bop boop, 02 Apr 2021i see your point, and i never had any beef against people h... moreThere is a MASSIVE difference between criticizing a smartphone for being a wasted potential at offering diversity and having basically the exact same design and features as almost every other, literally blocking any other features from existing.
And criticizing super rare, disappearing, missing yet highly demanded features.
In the first case, this is literally people having no option asking to not be let aside.
In the second case, you already have the whole market available to you and criticize something that will get abandoned, won't come-back, won't be introduced, or will stay ultra-rare because of negative comments.

And ofc mi 11 ultra will blow everyone out of the water. It basically fixes every single outstanding issue.

The mini display on the Z Flip is a measly 1.1", while the mini display on this Xiaomi is a whopping 1.1". Oh wait, they're identically sized!

It’s the lowest selling phone in the new lineup even though it’s the cheapest. People really don’t want compact phones anymore, whether its due to poor battery life or the “cramped” screen.
