Report: LG to exit mobile business after all

01 April 2021
It's looking like the end of the road for LG Mobile.

Quite sad to hear LG mobile leave the chat. Their G6 was one of its most memorable flagship phones and I wished I had one

I'll always remember the LG G2 as the phone that was farthest ahead of its time of any phone I've owned. In many ways it was the point at which smartphone innovation ended. If I had to use a G2 for the rest of my life, nothing would materially change. It was all incremental and non-revolutionary from there, in some ways regressive.

More advertising is what is needed. If they refreshed the G8 with 5G and did a camera refresh. Sales would fly off the shelf. Hard to find a new higher end with expandable memory and head phone Jack.

I am a fan of LG mobile, because of its hardware wich are well ahead of its competitors. I have been using an LG g5 since 2016 and is still using heavily over 16 hrs a day, and is working like a champion, a real champion.... now I bought another LG phone LG g8x dual screen, which is also a very good phone... LG provides phones with latest hardwares at a considerably low prices than its competitors, but people re running for cheap alternatives.. I

LG is making good phones with many good innovations, very best hardwares, but lack ok good marketing strategies keep the out of the market.. They are very poor at giving timely updating also.. Even though I am loving LG phone , prefer to them to other competitors...

If LG is ready to pair their hardwares with near stock software with timely updates, they will be the champions of the market... I am really sad to hear the news that LG is quting from the market. Really sad...

                  LG nexus 5x
                  The last good LG cellphone.

                  Sad.

I'm starting to hate the removal of headphone jack which was the only negative thing in mobile that happened in 2016.

Was watching Godzilla vs. Kong on my Essential Phone yesterday and battery for my AirPods died before I could finish it. I had USB-C from my Pixel 3 that I used for my Essential Phone and the sound still came off soft. Just watched it without headphones.

My iPhone 7 can only connect to my AirPods. I don't have the dongle or anything. It's really lame. My G5 does have headphone jack but my iPhone headphones don't fit in them. So the best one for really 3.5mm jack is my SE.

This is one of the main reasons I can never love Apple. I'm starting to hate wireless earbuds. I'm going to miss LG as the LG G3, G4, G5, V10, and V20 still kept all those features like headphone jack, microSD slot, and removable battery. A few had IR blaster and G5 and V20 gave us wide-angle.

Anonymous, 01 Apr 2021Cause LG starting following stupid trends and couldn’t do i... moreWhat trend was they following?

                            1. LG G5
                            2. Google Pixel 3
                            3. Apple iPhone SE
                            4. Essential Phone
                            5. Apple iPhone 7
                            6. LG/Google Nexus 5
                            7. Xiaomi Mi 3

I love all 7 of my phones. I use 4, 5, & 6 daily. My Nexus 5 battery is crap but the beauty is it charges really fast since the capacity is much lower and it doesn't eat up too much from my power bank. I use my Nexus 5 for torrents. Gives me only 2 to maybe 3 SOT and I'm totally fine with it. I can't complain as I got it for $30.

My G5 and Pixel 3 are retired. The latter might be only semi-retired. Just waiting until my Essential Phone's battery is completely drained as I have no option to get it replaced. My iPhone SE is also pretty much used very sparingly. I just wanted to get it back because I miss that size and it's my favorite iPhone design. I can't stand all the glass backs. Can't complain. Only $80 brand new on OfferUp.

I basically went back to iPhone not because I love it or anything. I still prefer Android. It's the simple fact I can always walk into an Apple Store and get the battery replaced. You don't have many options with Android. Ubreakifix charges $129.99 to get an HTC One (M8) battery replacement. Ridiculous for a phone from 7 years ago.

LG G5 is my favorite because I can keep it running forever with all the multiple removable batteries I can purchase from eBay and can just stockpile them. I personally don't need full capacity of 2800 mAh if I only use it a couple hours like once every week or two. It's not like I use my G5 all the time.

For fans of removable battery, get the G5 or V20. They were the last of their kind. The year of 2016 was the greatest year in mobile.

We will be streaming End Of The Road by Boyz II Men in honor of LG phones.

Made some good phones in the day, but a huge lack of any marketing, and lack of high end models to compete with the other flagships more often then not, never made a wow factor device, they will go the way of the Dodo, similar situation to HTC, and with the rise of Chinese flagship killers at a fraction of the price, next up is either HTC or Sony

Give me a phone this year that has a big battery, MicroSD card slot, flagship processor, headphone jack, IP68, high refresh rate, and 5G bands 2,5,41,66,71 at the bare minimum.

Let me save you the trouble, none.

LG has been my favorite phone maker since my first LG phone 10+ years ago. I also see nothing wrong with their software, either. It's not the best, and I hate how apps aren't automatically arranged in alphabetical order in the app drawer (lol), but their UI has always been nice looking and attractive to me. Also, I don't know what the big deal is with people and how long their phone will be receiving updates from the manufacturer/carrier. I could really care less about updates, I can't say I've really ever noticed anything different or better after an update, except for one time when my HTC One got updated from KitKat to Lollipop.
