Good bye. They had very bad strategy, and even i could help them. Maybe will they return some day, its a great and big company, and what is important they have capital and are successful in other departments ( one of the best ).

NeonHD, 05 Apr 2021Yeah, that was certainly one of the turning points for me. ... moreThat literally makes no sense and is not the reason sorry. At no point were Huawei ever the highest smartphone seller. Samsung are and have been for a long time. Why didn't America place Samsung on the entity list? You can't ban a company because you think they might create a monopoly. Monopolies are usually caused by mergers and companies acting in cohort to corner the market. There was never any possibility of Huawei creating a monopoly and you can't regulate against companies for producing products that sell well. America didn't want extra competition for Apple so they decided to jump on Chinese government links as a way to fabricate a threat and really neutralise Huawei in America.

Falling out of smartphone race will make little difference to their profits overall as a company. Sony is a massive household name that everyone knows and loves. Their smartphones just didn't set world alight but it'll hardly dent the company as a whole

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2021lol Imagine thinking Sony are a popular brand in the industry I would trust my money with Chinese brands any day of the week over Sony which has non existent presence in the smartphone segment.
Brands like Sony don't command the same kind of attention and trust that they had a decade ago..

HTC and Sony must be scared now.

The Chinese Giants are destroying other brands with better quality products

LG still had the backing of LG electronics while all HTC had was a few VR sales

polongo, 05 Apr 2021Proper audiophiles phone brand..I was worried about this until Asus announced the ROG 5 with even better audio. Sony also has a few tricks up it's sleeve. Still it's sad.

But at the same time I get why they did it. The US is afraid of Huawei monopolizing their market. I'm against the Huawei ban, but I'm also against monopolization of any kind.

But for now, Sony made the right decision, so right in fact that I'm surprised that they're the only company that still has the guts to stand by it, and a 3.5mm jack of course.

Sad news. Especially when mediocre companies like Realme are getting popular 😴

definitely keeping G8x for next 1yr now that ROMs supports getting better
                                  my last LG sadly

:( This is truly unfortunate. LG made some really stylish feature phones between 2005-2010, and some amazing smartphones between 2011-2017. They didn't give up on essential features like 3.5 mm jack & SD card slot, and were the last to give up on removable batteries. There phones used to have the best camera & audio in their prime years. They were a really competitive company that delivered many excellent products.

I'll always have pleasant memories of using their phones. I hope their other products do well financially. Fare thee well to LG smartphones!

Had they just continued with the V30 phone, without expanding size and weight, they would have been here today. The V30 is the best phone ever made after the Motorola Razr I xt890.
The flagship phones I'm using today will never fall into this category.
