If lg had stuck with the design language the g3 had none of this would have happened. Who doesn't like an efficiently sized phone with a big ass screen minus the heat/solder issues of the g4. The king is dead, long live the king.

    Next is Sony

The only real brands left are Samsung and Sony in the Android world.
The rest are nothing but cheap garbage copy/paste brands that I would never pay for..
Hell, I'd rather switch to iOS than use a china brand. And I h8 iOS!

AnonD-993141, 05 Apr 2021Lol exactly. Is like a trend now. You don't exist onl... moreI mean, isn't it normal for people to show compassion and condolence whenever they see a news they personally find sad? That's not a bad thing, really.

Less competition is always bad even though LG was a tiny player globally in recent years. With Huawei also nearly gone, the majority of the market will basically be down to around 5 major companies, Apple, OPPO, Xiaomi, Vivo and Samsung. Perhaps Honor might have a chance too if they can get their act together

well deserved, stupidity has its price. (I was an LG fan in 2012 when LG G2 came out, then I watched year after year how they slowly ruined all the great things they had).

No not LG! How to withdraw after showing crazy projects like the V60 with its dual screen, the LG WING 5G and a very likely roll-up screen? No it's worrying. Soon a world where we swear only by iPhone, Galaxy and BBK.

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2021u guyz are say rip lg but u never bought any of their recen... moreI never bought David Bowie's CD and I still recognize his death was a loss, I mean what kind of argument is that? Less competition means less innovation and higher prices, it's a loss for all customers regardless of what phone they are buying.

Tbh I would be super excited if LG decided to make a new sub-brand at style of early OnePlus, except for super cheap flagships they would focus on their standard premium quality at somewhat reasonable price... It would've been quite a comeback.

Good Bye LG! I personally gonna miss you and industry gonna stay happy as OEMs can take sweet time to innovate new in absence of competition.. Cheers!!

Is like a trend now. You don't exist online unless you show your compassion for something or somebody, even though you never heard or cared before for that thing or that person.

YUKI93, 05 Apr 2021At least ASUS now put the same DAC that LG put on their pho... moreKeep it and use it as a dedicated dap. Then get a better phone without considering audio because actual daps are expensive and slower than midrange phones.
And yes Asus is the new hope. I'm hoping the upcoming zenfone 8 would use the same dac.

What is the point of keeping the R&D technologies when PR teams enormously failed to advertise the tech to customers
The last two LG presentations about V50 &V60 didn't show anything aside from specs as everyone can get to gsmarena or similar to check

Sad news for entire mobile market... The less competition the worse, always. It's especially sad since LG was also one of the experimenting brands - if some generic "pooping out a generic brick every 2 weeks" brands like Vivo or Realme disappeared I probably wouldn't bat an eye, but this is just disappointing.

so, when Xperia decide to pullout too??

Jack Frost, 05 Apr 2021I don't think Sony is going anywhere anytime soon. Son... moreIf Sony wants to stay in the game they need to remove the bezels (personally I don't mind them since they are symmetrical but the mainstream sure does), add high refresh rate options for the different resolutions (1440p 90hz, 1080p 120hz at least), bigger batteries and faster charging.

I had an LG phone in the form of Nexus 4 but that was more of a Google phone. Nevertheless, the unique design on the back of the Nexus 4 was something I was proud of and was very rare at that time. I will say I am not gonna miss LG but they should have stayed in the market. Maybe a device once in a year would still have been great.

Good for them. I mean, it's long over due. LG is longer the innovative LG we knew 7 to 12 years ago. Duping innocent smartphone buyers of their hard earned money in the name of feature rich mid range phones that are actually marketing gimmicks. Selling phones with low end mediatek chipsets with low specs at an exorbitant rates. Producing low quality smartphones with overheating and tiny batteries that can't even last for at least 3 hours light to heavy usage. We do not miss you and will never ever miss you because you guys messed up. A good beginning but lost it along the line.
